Far more than than that under the concourses, but agree, very much in the minority.

The type of mask the vast majority of peeps have been wearing, are no protection, against a virus with a diameter of 20 nano-metres to 500 nm.

A human hair is around 70 microns (or 70,000 nm)

If you can get a human hair through the mask you're wearing, then as many as 3,500 SARS-CoV2 viruses can also get through that gap.

A respiratory mask, such as FFP2, which has an efficacy of around 94%, would be required.

100%. If I thought a mask would protect others or me I would wear one at the stadium. You either need a proper respiratory mask changed every couple of hours or you might as well get some fresh air.

The fact we went into lockdown twice while all diligently wearing masks tells you everything you need to know.

I'll be sure to tell the doctors at any future surgery you have that they can dispense with the masks unless they are full respiratory. Because it makes no difference does it?

Everyone has their own opinions on masks and all I will say on it is that it was great to be able to watch the game without some steward shouting at you to put one on like at the end of last season.
On a slightly different note it was fantastic to first of all see loads of my old mates in the pub beforehand and talk and laugh and joke and take the piss out of each other just like the old days. Secondly it was absolutely f-ing wonderful to see DC full and roaring the team on last night. Loved the game and especially the atmosphere, loved seeing the Baggies fans there giving their all for their mob as well.
No more lockdowns.

The sage advice of Dr Colin Axel...mechanical engineer....

As a physicist and IT consultant I think I'm better qualified than he is ;)

They're good enough for surgeons in surgery and nurses and doctors on wards, but not good enough for some in a football ground.

As most others, I didn't wear one btw, just pointing out how ridiculous the argument is that they're ineffective. The government really cocked up saying they're useless then backtracking.
In the early days some members of the WHO said mask wearing was ineffective and they didn't recommend it, they later changed that advice.

Basically there was a world wide shortage as the demand for them grew and they wanted the medical and front line people to have what there were at the time, hence the advice.

Then later face coverings were advised, plus masks, as time went on and supply improved.

Always wear a FFP 2 on hospital/medical appointments.

Proper medical masks work. A cloth with a tiger from Primark doesn’t. Read what I wrote rather than what’s in your head. Very few people wear the correct grade medical mask disposing of it at the correct interval. Do that and you are protecting yourself and others. Chuck on the cloth one you wore yesterday and you are better getting fresh air.

So your doctors are right, and I wouldn’t advise them otherwise in case you were going to!!

You seem confused? You stated..

"If I thought a mask would protect others or me I would wear one at the stadium"

and now you are saying they do work if you buy the correct ones. You can buy medical paper masks up and down the high street. So what is it? You think they work or they don't? Here you go for the next home game 50 masks for under a tenner ..

No these are also useless face nappies that won't prevent airborne virus particles entering you.

Surgeons and nurses wear these to prevent saliva entering open wounds, or in the event of an accident the patients blood entering their orifices.

There’s a massive difference between the crucial importance of the vaccine and the tokenism of the masks (unless proper masks)
Yes, obviously that is the case.

My point was that wearing a mask does help prevent germ spread when people are shouting around you. Masks are not tokenism esp if, as you say, you wear the more advanced filters, which I do have. Don’t underestimate the importance of washing hands for a wide variety of germs too
