Arnaut Danjuma

Barely a profit off the back of a great season, disappointing.

Depends on cash payment profile. Expect we would accept less if means greater cash payment upfront. Plus I expect danjuma’s injury record is starting to be a worry for purchasing clubs.

Suits us to get it done and move on. Good luck to him, a great player who should have a decent career.

It's funny really because as good as he was for us last year I doubt he'll be remembered much in ten years because we never really got to see him.

I still think he could have been far better. Saying that about easily our best player last season says a lot. Good coaching and a full ground behind him and he could really make headlines.

In light of the fee paid for Tammy Abrahams by Roma, this probably represents a price in the right ball park.

Technically he's not signed so still time for someone to gazump now they know that £22m should do the job.

Good business, plenty of time to replace.

...fair price for a player who shone in The Championship but is still unproven at the top levels.

Hopefully SP gets some of that to re-invest in a striker over the next week or so?

Given the state of the post COVID market it is just as likely that we end up hanging on to him till January when there will be some desperate clubs around.

It feels as though people aren't quite as appreciative of his talents as perhaps his agent would like.

A big shame if true but always likely as long as someone was prepared to stump up.

Spain is actually a pretty interesting destination right now as there may be a temporary shift in power and an opportunity for another less fancied team to challenge for the title.

Who comes in to replace him could define our season. Let's hope they've lined up an ace since they must have prepared for this eventuality.

Is it being petty to be disappointed with that fee? He’s in a similar ball park to Buendia in terms of age and stats so why is he worth £15 million less??? Not like his contract was running out next year or anything either...

I do know what you mean. But just bear in mind Norwich were in a much better bargaining position thanks to their promotion (no need to sell), and the fact the buyer was a big spending PL club.

Getting £20m (up front as well?!) out of La Liga is not easy right now. Maybe we could squeeze a bit more out of them if we wait until deadline day, but not significantly more I'd have thought. And we'd be unable to recruit replacements and leave ourselves short.

Like the Surridge sale but on a larger scale, this is probably a fair and reasonable deal for us. The harder part is now: getting the signings right!
