Let’s see if they do this summer. Just been voted by fans as the best defender in the SPLi believe. Once he gets his chance at the top level I believe he will thrive.

Yes but to be fair we're comparing CCV last season to Cahill this, not the future.
I thought CCV was great last year BTW, but come on, Cahill still is a class above

I'm confused. I think you're saying that CCV is a better player at 24 than GC was? I've probably misunderstood.

Both I think, and that CCV is better right now than Cahill is, hence a better option to have in the team.

I’m probably confused as well, I think Waz is as well to be fair

No one is arguing that he won’t thrive. He’s excellent but the point is comparing him to Cahill which is what no one can understand that’s all. :)

Waz is being clear, not sure why people can’t get it, can understand why you might not agree with it but to say you can’t understand it?

He is saying that CCV last seasons performances were better than Cahills this seasons performances. He is not saying CCV was better than prime Cahill. Very few English defenders in history can claim that.

I think it’s stretching it a bit but would like to have seen CCV in the flesh more than once as he was outstanding, and had fantastic pace and mobility which obviously Cahill is past his best on.

Because it wasn't clear, and I'm glad you've provided an explanation. Based on your comparison I'd disagree, but theres not a lot in it. I think Cahill has also been a good leader even though he isn't captain.

Lets hope your version is correct.

I wasn’t being difficult it was genuinely worded very poorly in my opinion hence my confusion, if you read my first reply I said that and the several opportunities to make it clearer for me also didn’t work.

I didn’t mean my post in a rude way, it was just clear to me and Waz has explained it as well so thought I’d add a bit more clarity!
 
I think the only thing CCV really edges cahill on is pace, the rest cahill exceeds him on but because of his experience he makes it look alot easier and maybe not as much is noticed?
 
CCV was great last year and we should of signed him.
Cahill is a stone in our defence set up, and players like Kelly are getting some great experience from him.
 
Before last season, CCV was hardly rated by anyone, even the US viewers on this forum who saw him play.

He had a great season with us, I'm sure many would say it was a positive surprise. We would have all been delighted if we had signed him at the fees being reported.

And now he plays in Scotland, where the reports are that Celtic want to sign him for $6M.

At best we can say that he had a very good year in the second tier of English football. Cahill>CCV in my books, for 2021-2 anyway.
 
I thought waz point was ccv is currently/last season a better player, not comparing a 24 cahill to a current ccv.

Interesting thing is, I can recall people criticising ccv mobility last season, at least at first, probably due to his size/stature.
