Clever move on a number of fronts....if you have Trippier delivering the sort of quality into the box that's he's capable of then having Chris Wood in there makes a lot of sense!.......I do hope that doesn't come back to haunt poor old Shaun.

his record is surprisingly good. particularly as like you say for a side like Burnley, who are usually playing to stay up.

I think he's also pretty mentally tough, determined, brave, good work ethic etc. something newcastle lack at present.
 
I think it's a clever signing not just tactically but he will quite happily drop into the Championship and score a hateful of goals but is also a proven Premier league goalscorer if they stay up.
As others have said it's a good January signing for Eddie.

Can recall us trying to get him on loan at one point, but apparently he wasn't interested as wanted champ football May have been back in our league 1 promotion year... in Jan window.
