Luton Town v AFC Bournemouth

2nd half today was plan B that got us back in the game.
Perhaps, or just a battering from park at half time?

Not just against Luton, times this season where a team has studied us and cancelled us out, not complaining too much considering we are second, just an observation.

The walk from the station to the ground isn't the best either. I have never seen so much litter and junk lying around.

It was horrendous. They seemed to have an obsession with car parks. There were loads all over the town centre. Made me wonder what possible attraction there was that warranted all of those visitors - I suspect it's the train out of there.

There's been plenty of investment around Luton Airport parkway, but the pedestrianised bit alongside the Arndale centre is terrible, has to be the worst high street in the south.

The new ground is basically the town side of the railway between Airport parkway and town station. Should be really good for the town centre though.

Worse than Poole :D?

I see they bought and sold some land out of town to fund it as well as loads of residential and other development on the site itself. No doubt some redevelopment of the existing ground site thrown in and you can see how they've made more progress than we have.

Always amazes me how so many towns and cities around the country have massive development plots in or within walking distance of the town centre. Luton, Southampton, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Swansea .... I'm sure there's more.

There is no similar site in Bournemouth.

Seems like most of the redevelopment in bmouth has centred around student accommodation the past decade or so

Even then none of those sites are big enough to build a stadium. The St Paul's ASDA site is down as a development site in the local plan as far as I recall but I don't even think that would be big enough for a stadium let alone all of the residential and commercial space that would be needed to fund the project.

BCP council are currently talking about the combined Winter Gardens/BIC as a development site for resi/commercial including entertainments venue to replace the BIC. This would be big enough if the layout could be sorted but it would take a lot of funding and ambition.

Ah sorry, thought you were talking about sites in general, not just football grounds.

I guess that's why places like Canford have been touted previously... miles out the town.

Can recall talks of the golf course at Queens Park before. Not sure realistic that is.
