Yes and wouldn't we be looking at the best option available. What if Travers gets injuredIt doesn't matter how well Travers has been playing. If Nyland is injured we need another keeper. Is this not common sense?

Of course its common sense and any player being brought in has to be good enough to play at Championship level, therefore has to be good enough to challenge Travers. It doesn't matter how well Travers has been playing. If Nyland is injured we need another keeper. Is this not common sense?
Allegedly, that all important word that gets bandied about quite a lot !!Of course but not one that’s allegedly going to walk straight in the team. How’s that going to do for Travers confidence and long term development? He’s literally saved our backside week after week, including yesterday.
We need back up, no one is arguing with the fact we need another keeper

Probably not. Will be an interesting one if it happens. Would upset a few on here but I must admit I have an open mind on it. I still think strong competition for places is good.Just can’t see a keeper of Woodmans stature coming here to sit on the bench.
He is coming in on loan and lets see what happens. 3 weeks ago he was coming in as number 1 would be very hard to see that now.no way he will walk straight into the team, hopefully he’ll push Travs on to even better things
3 weeks ago coming in as no1......where on earth did you get that from ?He is coming in on loan and lets see what happens. 3 weeks ago he was coming in as number 1 would be very hard to see that now.
Exactly, adds a bit of experience to the set up as well. Travers has been excellent of course but there is always room for improvement, a bit of game management (time wasting) at Luton rather than rushing to take a goal kick right at the end. The Coventry equaliser that went in at the near post. There is always stuff to learn from and those examples are not to be seen as slagging him off. As I say he has been great behind a pretty tight defence, keep him on his toes.no way he will walk straight into the team, hopefully he’ll push Travs on to even better things
Newcastle, see the date of the thread I posted Travers or woodman3 weeks ago coming in as no1......where on earth did you get that from ?

also didn't he have 20 clean sheets as well? very capable keeper by those statsIm not suggesting he replaces Travers...but Ordinary??? Voted best goalkeeper in Championship (ahead of Begovik) during his Swansea loan
So by that argument we get a keeper in who is not that good in case he pushes Travers. Then if Travers does pick up an injury we all sit here saying we needed a better back up keeper.Of course but not one that’s allegedly going to walk straight in the team. How’s that going to do for Travers confidence and long term development? He’s literally saved our backside week after week, including yesterday.
