AFC Bournemouth v Fulham - 5 Games To Go

To be fair the Fulham goal wasn't his decision, the technology makes the decision. Yes agreed it was a definite penalty, no question.

Yep, as was the case with lucky Villa when the ball was clearly over the line and the keeper (short time at AFCB) was beaten.

Just having a read through the programme. They mentioned Harry Arter and Sean O'Driscoll as playing for both clubs.

Being ancient I'm sure Jon Evanson came from Fulham too? And Alec Stock managed us both. But I'm sure there must have been other connections?

For the second time, when I said Cook didn’t make a mistake or get outjumped I was referring to the reciprocal fixture at Fulham and his marking of Mitrovic not his whole career.

Surely people aren’t trying to say Phillips is as good as Cook? There’s no contest here.
If I recall correctly, Cook got beaten to a header by Mitro in the reverse fixture and Travers made a worldie (and the guy missed the follow up in to the side netting).

Doesn't take away from the point that Phillips signing and letting Cook go remains an odd decision as I don't think it's particularly an upgrade. Phillips is growing in confidence though and looked excellent yesterday.

Good shout - see min 1:33ish here - I would say that Mitrovic had more of a run at the ball and Cook needed to jump static. Yesterday (I think) they both had a standing jump?

Phillips has been improved the last game or two which is welcome. I've criticised when he's been poor so I should note when he's done well. Whether he's the long term answer can be a question for the summer.
The performances of the last game or 2 were what we were hoping to get from Phillips as soon as he signed. He has his future ahead of him and plenty of time to improve his game. Cook is on the other side of his career and won't be improving his game.
It will be interesting to see what Cooper does with Cookie when we play Forest. Cook being the professional that we all know he is could be brilliant against us or it could go the other way with him being a jumble of emotions on the night. Surridge will just want to pull our pants down.

I'm still not convinced the ball was totally over the line,
the blue line that determines whether it is over or not was not straight,
it seems to be off line on the far post.
But who knows and it's given now. we carry on.

The camera in the stand isn’t 100% straight on with the line, hence the correction. The post is wider than the line.

I’m not convinced either, with the human eye no one can be. It was given by 1mm but Hawkeye has a working 3mm element of doubt.
