Championship 21/22

Sheffield United holding a masterclass of lobbing it into the box and all trying to head it, strange decision by QPR to counter this by playing a small goalkeeper tonight.

I'm still confident we'll get 2nd, but I'm not overly concerned about the other teams in the playoffs tbh... apart from Sheffield u maybe, as they do have some genuine quality and have charged in from lower half not too long ago.

Last seasons playoff threats stronger imo. Thinking of Brentford.

Sheffield United only have one game left against Fulham so Blackburn are still right in it if they win today.
That could go either way. I think the Championship will be Fulham’s by then so they could be on the beach or up to give their travelling fans a great send off like we did.
On the other hand Blackburn could be out of it completely after today :utc:

For those playing Brian bingo....that's a full house.

What a load of absolute drivel, topped off with a claim of "ethnic cliques" based on exactly what?

Another poster has already asked that and tried to harass me into an explanation....that indicates a Forum clique aspect.

The squad is divided into people from vastly different origins of area....including Scots, Welsh, Irish, Colombian etc..there will be difficulties in gelling a team spirit..
thats just how I think it through ..year in year out...together with other angles.
Its only Opinion...some of it instinct based...some of it from a life of observing Football.

Its surely wise to cover all angles when trying to work out what causes things to go wrong
Elitists on a Football Forum use instant put downs such as 'drivel' without offering up alternatives. They have what seems to be a narrow- minded and rigid set of views . ..a bit like most politicians.
Thats no good for following a club like ours is it ?

I must admit to enjoying Brian's posts, forum would be duller place without him.

Seems to be stuck in an era from around 30 years ago though. Kind of like our very own Ron Atkinson, in many ways.

Actually further back than 30 years probably...but I think Football was in a far better place....a better watch.
What is considered 'progress' is a complete disaster...with VAR and the breakaway ' top six' capitalism for starters!

Btw...I couldn't stand the bigoted Ron Atkinson !

Look at the Liverpool and Man City squads. Are they ethnically homogenous ?

Yes they almost certainly are not ...but their outrageously superior skills from their Big Money Buys serve to overcome most problems. A very different scenario than Boscombe.

But then look across at ' the worlds biggest club' Man Utd and try and work that out ?

If we mess it up v Blackburn and Forest ..giving the latter 2nd place.....there is no way then that we would win the playoffs...any of the three others would pick off a dispirited and disillusioned Cherries side......how the hell would they get up enough steam to win even the home leg of the semi - stage ?
No ...we have this one chance to cement what has been a top two scenario all season ...and thats the reality of where we are.

:utc:

The reality is, a draw today, sees Blackburn out of the play-offs, so they can't sit back against us.This usually works in our favour.
Rothwell will probably leave this summer and if he's coming our way, he's not likely to make a huge effort to prevent us going up automatically.
Mowbray is also going; how motivated is he going to be for the next two games?

Players today from a very young age will have only ever known their sides to have players from every background imaginable. Academies are filled with internationals from nearly every continent. This is what’s normal in football clubs… blimey even most schools are like it.

People who think there would be a divide are just sitting back on their own biases and experiences. It’s not the same.

Well, SheffU have to win vs. Fulham, to guarantee a play-off spot (not 2nd though) after Middlesbrough's result today, Luton need 2 x points from Fulham and Reading, to guarantee their play-off spot.

Will the Hatters do us a favour on Monday?

Maximum points update 17.06 BST, 30th April

We stay second. Still in an automatic promotion spot.
Forest? Three points behind. 6 points still to play for. Roll on Tuesday night.
Our fate is still well in our own hands.
