Non - Conservative Leadership Race

he’s like a really posh version of the drunk bloke at the bar who will talk to anyone and you can’t get away…

He's been coached to do the same as Donald did to Hilary.

Start off in attack dog mode to unsettle your opponent.

Seemed to work, first ten minutes he battered her, but he forgot to carry on doing it.

They had kissed and made up by the end.

I’d love to know if anyone had a stopwatch on them to see how much Sunak talks in direct comparison to Truss. If you don’t stop him talking he just keeps on going and going and going and going, he’s like a really posh version of the drunk bloke at the bar who will talk to anyone and you can’t get away…

I thought he was out of order, especially in the early part of the ‘debate’.

He had his say, but wouldn’t let Truss have her say without continually butting in.

The lady from the BBC wasn’t strong enough to control him, it needed a Robin Day type person to have been in charge.

What were they going to do about the NHS? It didn’t even figure in the questions, the only reference to NHS was re national insurance.

We had the important discussion about earrings and posh suits, what a waste of time.

What did we learn from it about who would be the best PM, basically nothing at all.

I can't decide yet of the two who is best for PM...but Sunak, from some instinctive notion within me...would be better suited to Labour.
Truss is surely a Tories Tory and will appeal more to the big Investors within their 'Members'...

Neither of them seems bothered about the Health Service.. so we look to Starmer to 'step on the Gas' ..which he certainly Did Not Do in his speech this morning !

Truss and Sunak both said at the end..." they could work Together"......f√cking weird that...after stating their differences on Taxing.
Would She have him as Chancellor ?

Jesus wept. What a choice.

Anyone need a few days hiding in the French countryside, just shout.
Plenty of space.

He was so rude. He also was clearly told to tell his poverty stricken Southampton chemist story three times so it sinks in.

I thought it was awful when he said he wasn’t going to apologise for his parents working hard to give him the best chance through private school. As a leader of this country you should be at least aiming to make sure everyone’s education gives them the best chance. It may not come true but it has to be the aspiration.

A snap poll had Sunak with 39% and Truss with 38%.

But of Conservative voters Truss won and with Labour voters Sunak won.

What did you expect to learn about them?
What do you expect they are going to do to the NHS?
They are both tories!

They were so poor they sent him to Winchester, one of the most exclusive public schools in the UK.

We seem to have a bunch of politicians who are scared to suggest that aspiration is good.
