Morgan Gibbs-White

They just signed Nunes from sporting who is a level above Gibbs White so I doubt it.
Always a question with Wolves' recruitment as to how their imports settle into life here and into the PL. They've had hits and misses. So in Gibbs-White they've sold a lad who knows the club and the culture / style of football, and used that to get a potentially better player if he settles ok.

Gibbs White has played around 50 games in the PL for them and has one goal and one assist, he has one good championship season where his output was slightly better than Phillip Billing’s while playing in a more advanced role. He may know the club but as of yet he hasn’t shown that he has the quality to contribute for them at the top level.

My god. That... is properly ridiculous. Forest has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at it. If Gibbs-White really was a £44.5m player, there'd be plenty more teams in the mix for his signature. He'd be spoken of in hushed tones as the second coming of Rooney or something. This isn't even me trashing Forest - their spend doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If they go down again, they are screwed. Realistically, they don't have what it takes to be much more than a Crystal Palace mid table sort of side and even then that would be nonsensical money spent. Wolves are laughing there. That's quite a profit on an academy player.

How much have Forest spent now ?
Hate to mention FFP but how do they avoid falling foul of the rules.
Must have spent more than Fulham last time they came up.

I can't see Forest anywhere near the drop zone...probably 9th or 10th.

It's quite strange how on this Forum...our fans have developed vitriol and abuse against Forest ...and how it also exists from them to us.. when the clubs that have ruined Football over the years, like Manu, Arsenal and Leeds ..ought to be the recipients of our venom.
Often the way after a close fought battle and banter around one game. We’ve had similar with Middlesbrough, Brentford, Watford and a few others over the years as well as the more obvious local rivalries. It will disappear over time.

To answer my own question.
Forest have a net spend of £146M.

Light weight compared to Citeh, Manure and Chelski but, this may come as a surprise to some, Forest aren't as big a team as them.

FFP must have so many loopholes. MGW is an incredible player, he reminds me of Zaha, and has the potential to be almost as good, but 45 million for a team who spent fortunes already is very steep. Cooper will have a job managing their egos. On paper they are one of the best teams in the country, as much as it pains me to say.
If Forest F' this up and go down they will be in massive trouble. Their business model doesn't seem sustainable, even if they were a massive club before.

For Sheffield U in 35 starts he scored 12 goals and had 10 assists and MOM 7 times.

He is 22-years-old so can improve a lot, but that is a big fee, they are determined to stay in this league for more than one season with the money being spent.

That must be around or just above £150 million if this deal goes through.

Starting to feel like a broken record. Forest won't have any problem at all with FFP.

I'd guess they're still about £60m of spending from even having to look at it with one eye.

However, if they stay up it could impact their spending power in future seasons. Witness how careful Newcastle are being despite their wealth. That's because it would make their longer term plan tricky to wildly throw money around the way Man City did when they first got the big cash.

They are a bigger club than City , equal to Man Utd, equal to Chelsea...Brian Clough ensured that for them ...on the trophy front ...shoved it up the Elite!.
No reason why Boscombe or Forest can't scale those heights..Forest again.. Boscombe too as a token first time Tinpot effort one day.

F√ck the f√cking f√ckers ! . Thursday is Tanglefoot Day ! Yo !

Fair play if it pays off.....but seems absolutely fucking mental from afar. The schadenfreude will be off the scale if they go down or he flops.

Wolves supporting mates view:

It’s bonkers. I would have expected him to be on the bench on Saturday. Still unproven at this level and has chucked in two 6/10 performances so far. Forest are drunk
