Morgan Gibbs-White

Stoopid money tbh but Forest are pushing themselves as a big club so they will have to pay inflated fees methinks

Sounds like a massive overpayment but, at least with him, if they go down there's a decent chance he could contribute to them coming straight back up. You can't have the same confidence about some of their other signings.

Except for salary, I can't see why he would want to go.

Ten players have left Forest according to this article.

Fulham and Aston Villa are examples of newly-promoted teams to spend heavy in recent years. The former, however, failed in their attempts to stay up after spending over £100m during the 2018 summer window. Jean Michael-Seri, Frank Zambo-Anguissa, Aleksandar Mitrović, Alfie Mawson, Maxime Le Marchand and Andre Schurrle were amongst the 12 new players to join the Cottagers.

They finished 19th in the end, with only Huddersfield faring worse. One of the teams that replaced Fulham in the Premier League was Villa, who like Forest, lost a number of loan players and those out of contract.

Wesley, Tyrone Mings, Douglas Luiz, Matt Targett, Ezri Konsa, Marvelous Nakamba, Bjorn Engels, Anwar El Ghazi, Tom Heaton and Trezeguet all joined for a combined fee of £102m. And Villa were destined for the drop until the final couple of matches, where they managed to survive thanks to a 1-1 draw at West Ham on the final day.

Why wouldn't he start at Wolves? Is he even guaranteed to start at Forest with the number of signings?
Probably because they've got better players unless they sell someone on. Neves was linked to It'd so you never know. God knows how Forrest will fit everyone in, but if you're paying the figures quoted as a newly promoted team, it's usually going to be for a starter n

He was the best player in the league last season IMO. Forest have a better team than Man Utd and probably a better manager too. If Forest don't finish top 10, that will be a failure. Lingaard, MGW, Johnson and that bloke from Germany as their front 4 is frightening, all of them have goals and individual magic in them.
They will only have about 2 of last season team playing for them.
Who would have thought this would happen 10 months ago when they were bottom of the championship.

It's like they are trying to be Newcastle. Has Steve Cooper managed many big egos yet? That could be part of the test.

Notts Forest going to win the league and everything ;)
All those fans with "that bloke from Germany" on their backs, a bit like "Local Man"

The hype you can only have before a ball is kicked.

Yes, ask Chelsea fans about De Bruyne, or United about Puyol. Plenty of reasons players move on, typically if its a fringe/reserve player is if manager would rather spend money elsewhere. Sometimes raises questions down the line, many times in turns out to be the right decision.

Your forgot Surridge ;)

@Old Cherry

My guess is he'll be on loan at Bristol City before the end of the season...

I can't see Forest anywhere near the drop zone...probably 9th or 10th.

It's quite strange how on this Forum...our fans have developed vitriol and abuse against Forest ...and how it also exists from them to us.. when the clubs that have ruined Football over the years, like Manu, Arsenal and Leeds ..ought to be the recipients of our venom.
