Scott Parker

Why would we coach all our youth and academy players to play a passing game only to appoint dyche as head coach?

Can’t stand the guy

Can't stand him either, but don't want to see another 'internal' appointment.

We need experience, and I'd rather see Dyche than another internal appointment or cheap ass option.

Give it to Cooper, this season is as good as a write off now anyway. It was going to be a monumental task even if everything went to plan over the summer, it has now become virtually impossible-

-we have spent an entire pre season preparing under a manager who didn’t want to be here with a squad he didn’t believe in.

-said manager signed so many average championship players on long contracts last season that we have been left with little room to manoeuvre and are left with a shockingly under equipped squad (he wasn’t wrong about that to be fair.)

-Max clearly is unwilling/unable to invest to make us competitive. Sustainability is all well and good but it’s fantastical to suggest it can go hand in hand with survival, just ask Norwich. No proven manager in their right mind is going to want to jump aboard this sinking ship, give it to Cooper and give him time to start implementing his style on the squad in preparation for a promotion push in the championship next season.

 Didn't get past the first sentence, absolute classic.

Sacking the manager after only 4 games doesn't sit well with me - especially when 3 of those games were against Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Having said that, I heard Parker's interview after the game on the car radio and it wasn't exactly awe inspiring.
Well, I doubt Parker will be out of a job very long. 2 promotions to the Premier League looks very good on any CV.

Sorry, we can’t sign championship players as they have no PL experience but we can use an unknown manager in the PL for the next 34 games?

You talk so much rubbish.

Writing the season off after 4 games is what got Parker sacked. This is such a defeatist attitude.

I was never a Parker fan, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

Parker is right. This team is woefully constructed to play at this level. That’s not the fault of the coach.

Max and his team ran off Eddie, sacked JT just as he brought in players he actually wanted and engineered the move to the club of a man ill suited to coach here.

The problem starts at the top. Perhaps Max needs to spell out exactly what the goals of this club are. It certainly isn’t being competitive in the Premier League. These coaching changes have been poorly executed. Who would want to work for a “team” who has driven out both Eddie and Scott Parker in the fashion in which they exited the club?

Max needs to cash out. At the very least he needs to change senior leadership at this club. This management group is now toxic. As Denim is now the public face of the club, although only showing up when he cans managers, it’s time to start looking at his post Eddie ownership. He just nuked our chances of doing anything in this transfer window. He hides in a basement and only pops out to change coaches.

Personally, I shed no tears over Parker being gone. I question the timing (it should have been obvious over the summer the parties involved were not on the same page) and the overall direction of the club under Max’s leadership. I hold him responsible for Eddie leaving the club and for this debacle.

Competent management does not fire key personnel until they already have his or her replacement pretty much set up. If O’Neil is still manager a week from now we’ll know this whole thing is another cock up.

Truly not looking forward to the next few games, particularly Forest on Saturday. This club is now without any direction going into two six pointers and the last two days of the transfer window. Gross incompetence.

Parker, by his recent comments, distanced himself from anything that was happening at the club. With Head Coach/Manager that is where the rot stops and some form of progressive plan is announced and put into action. With Parker it seemed the a visit to the gent's clothing department was his only plan. Not sorry to see him go.

Hopefully his ego will allow him to learn from this. He has a lot to learn I think about strategy, how to conduct himself and how to manage player confidence. Ordinarily, I would agree that sacking a manager so soon after getting promoted would be wrong, but SP has been so negative since pre-season that I believe they have done the right thing. The players must be feeling so dejected. He simply didn't have the personality or skills to bring the best out of them. Let's face it. Last season the were question marks too. Now we need the right manager who will play to our strengths and get our players enjoy playing again whether we stay up or go down.

In regards to being backed in the market. 10 players in since January. 23 million plus wages Now those players aren't good enough??? I appreciate we won't take many points off the top 5 clubs. But 9-0??? The tactics looked clueless. As they did for at least a third of last season. The Arsenal game showed massive gaps between defence and midfield and midfield and attack. Tactics were constantly changed. I think this is an ongoing issue going back a year. Not just last few games. Parkers public comments finished him. Who wants to play for a manager whose side shipped 16 goals in three matches and slags off his players???

I don't necessarily agree with much of this but where I do agree is that Max will come under a greater degree of scrutiny this season, especially if it is as tough as most people predict. Until now he's had Howe-like unwavering support from fans but an awful season following his seemingly knee-jerk decision making won't go over well at all. This on top of his lack of clear communication on what the plan is will have people questioning him more and more.
