The Abuse of Kelly v3

If you were at Burton in 2010 and saw Connell get abused by an idiot in the crowd while warming up and his reaction to it, I would suggest that it certainly does motivate some people. If you cannot remember then just watch the highlights and Alans response to scoring to see.

I have never booed a Bournemouth player but I am pretty sure abuse does motivate some players. Certainly always seems to motivate the opposition players to score against us... ;)
There’s been many examples, from Connell, Fletch, Newson, Spackman, Robinson (who also gave it back to the fans ) in ancient history right through to Arter and Gosling in modern day who’ve had stick and worked hard to win fans around/prove them wrong.

I was stood very near the guy who shouted at him, in fact when he ran over and pointed at the crowd after he scored he seem to point straight at me. I don't agree that Connell upped his game because of that one guy though.

He seemed pretty bloody up for it, thats for sure.

At least we now know who the idiot was.. ;)

We'll never know will we. Made have lit a fire in his stomach to prove people wrong. He may have thought what a tw4t and played exactly how he would have without the comment.

You'd think players would mention it more if they felt it motivated them so much. "Yeah I was struggling tbh but thankfully a big brave lad from row Z called me a cnut so I went on and bagged a hattrick. Probably wouldn't have bothered otherwise"

Funny how certain fans not only can't accept that they act like twats when they are upset but they actually try to convince themselves they are helping.

Kelly , not for the first time, was bl00dy awful. When he came back from injury he was shoehorned into the side immediately and since has mainly struggled . Everything with Kelly is negative . Backwards and sideways. Slow and ponderous. We are at a crunch time of the season where every performance and point counts. We haven't got to time to mollycoddle players who may be lacking confidence. We need to drop them out of the team and replace them with someone who is up for the challenge. Kelly's performance yesterday affected the performances of other players. Tavs for example who had a much quieter game. I'd say that Stephens realised pretty quickly that Kelly was having one of his meltdown games and therefore keeping one eye on Kelly took away from his own performance. If Kelly doesn't have confidence in himself then how much confidence have the other players got in him? At this stage of the season aswell . Needs dropping but like other players in our starting 11 he can be as **************** as he wants, fail at his job but still get picked. I personally couldn't give a toss if a few people showed their frustrations and booed him or jeered him. The best way to answer the critics is to prove them wrong . Its a shame but Kelly just proves them right more often than not.
I am not one of the great readers of the game but one of the things I really didn't understand yesterday was the relationship between Tavs and Kelly yesterday. Kelly would move up, Tavs would be in space but the pass was never made and he (Kelly) would pass sideways or back, then trot back to his holding position. It happened so often I wondered whether he was acting under instructions. When I remember Charlie Daniels bombing up that left side for Puuuugh and then the interchange of passes. If the moved failed, then someone was covering. That sort of play keeps the opposition guessing and it's so much more constructive. You'd think Tommy Elphick would know this!!

Tav was throwing his arms in the air in frustration during the first half. He did it a couple of times when he was in space and the ball just went backwards or sideways.

We're always some of the last to leave the stadium thanks to people on our right, default direction to leave, standing and chatting for 30 mins before trying to go down the aisle steps. So the 6 rows behind us are usually down the steps before us.
Loudest and longest applause of the daily was for Jeff who did a solo lap long after the rest of the team has disappeared.

Go left young man, go left...

More recent than that we did it to devastating effect with two players still at the club. Indeed the left winger in that duo came on on Sunday. At right back. Go figure….

I remember that and for me Jeff was the only player yesterday that earned any applause. It was kind of indicative I feel that he came round and applauded the fans on his own after the rest of the players. I, for one, will be sorry to see him go.

Ive been a big fan of Tav this season but he was just as terrible as anyone else on Saturday.

That pass from Kelly that led to the second goal might not have been brilliant, but if he just used his other foot he may well have controlled it and not lost the ball quite so easily. He can’t surely be that one footed. It was like watching a kid in an under 7’s game.

There was a lot of snarkey stuff going on during the game. Meps and Neto were digging each other out as well.
I don't mind it to be honest. As long as it's forgotten after the game and doesn't get carried into training.

Oh come on. Some light booing at half time and a spattering of applause at Kelly being subbed. So what? He was fcuking awful today and a few supporters let him ( and the team ) know. What a soft bunch of cnuts you lot are. Bless little Lloyd , might hurt his feelings as we crumble to a woeful 4-0 home defeat. Aren't supporters allowed to show emotion? Aren't supporters allowed to show their feelings and frustrations?
It was cheering when subbed - dumb behaviour
