Hard to force players to extend if they don't want to. I guess the strategy is to always have a good replacement ready and waiting in the squad ready to step up for when players leave. Brighton seem to do this well.

conveniently overlooking if a player wants to run his contract down and scoop a big signing on fee somewhere else the club are powerless to stop him strategy or not - we obviously weren’t bothered that JZ wanted to, otherwise we would’ve offered him a better deal to ensure he stayed (which we rightly didn’t) as we knew we could attract better to strengthen his position in Vina/Kerkez. That’s a strategy. Unless how the club’s run is a constant gripe that you can’t unconvince yourself of.
 
FFP would suggest we still need to generate income from player sales even if Bill wants to fund the club.
Who might bring some cash in is the question? That would put Phil Bill, Dom and Kelly as our most saleable assets.
Hopefully the manager has the final say, but all clubs have to do it to comply with FFP.

TBH we could sell all three of those you mentioned and I believe we'd be no worse for it.

At this moment in time I would only have Dom as a confirmed first choice starter of those three and I'm not convinced by his goal scoring ability either and am sure we could do better.

My disliking of Billing has nothing whatsoever to do with how long he's been at the club Neil.

And those new players are the Billing Lerma Smith and Kelly of our times, albeit in no way similar to them position or play wise...respect what the 4 you mention have done but time to move on.
