Gaetano Castrovilli

I know the point you were making and agree with you. You’ve just picked weird examples. Puckett for example was dreadful when he came back and retired shortly after with one leg slightly shorter than the
I don’t think they’re weird examples? All of them played on to a quality standard, i except that Puckett isn’t the greatest example to the modern fan but he carried on in the non league and was outstanding

Dan Gosling did his ACL and then had two bad knee injuries meaning his playing time was seriously curtailed for several seasons before we signed him. He went on to become crucial player in our previous PL stint.

So, fingers crossed Castrovilli is more Gosling than Boli.

Injuries that were seriously career threatening only twenty years ago are nearly run of the mill injuries now, Stephen Purches injury at Rochdale would now be dealt with in a few hours, that was such a shock at the time that I can remember our fans and Rochdale fans being very upset by it in the pub after the game

Ruud van Nistelrooy did his ACL when he was on the verge of signing for Man United. They went ahead a year later and.. it went ok.

The main question, is he good though? He didn't play in Europa Conference Final against West Ham but his stats are better than Cook's.
Didn't play due to an abundance of precaution from a knock on the knee he got before it, it's not that he was dropped because they thought he wasn't good enough.

I don't suppose we are in the business of signing risk-free players, certainly not for €12m or whatever it is. Scott is double the price and hasn't played at this level. This guy's ability looks bang on but he carries a big injury question mark. We turned Jackson down due to injury and it appears we've missed a trick. It's all a gamble.
Maybe its because you slag off the people who sign players.
This.

I am sure we would have proceeded with Jackson if the timing was august but, given Dom was injured, we couldn’t risk a January deal as we only had kieffer up front.

Please can someone enlighten me

What in blue blazes is a double pivot?

I’m guessing that Snoots has featured in one on occasion, but presumably this is different

Hey assuming that this is genuine and not a wonderful segue to a pun.

A pivot is basically a midfielder that drops deep to move the ball from the defence to midfield. I think the term pivot is because they typically just turn and pass.

A double pivot is just having two midfielder who drop deeper to collect the ball, this is particularly trendy because most teams only play one up front so they can't press unless they pull more players up.

Once he's had a prostate check he'll appreciate the value of your post :)

Like Neil none of us have a scooby how it will turn out.

You either go negative, go happy clapper or sit on the fence and wait until November when we've been through the wringer and report back then.
Go happy clapper obvs.
