Andoni Iraola

I would agree with him.
A very promising start, all things considered.

Hopefully he’ll be able to fill the gaps in the squad before the window closes and we can give this season a PROPER go and stick it fully up the doom mongers !!!

I’m really looking forward to this season !

:utc:

I think a lot of us are, but it’s still work in progress and our fans will need to be patient.

I think most of us will be.
This is definitely a deviation from the norm, from the tried and tested.
I think most of us are prepared to take the pain, just to see us try to do something a bit different.

When it’s the same old same old and the results aren’t forthcoming, I think that’s when our impatience tends to come to the fore.

Some of us are. You and Waz are absolutely not. You looking forward to booing the team from the first minute because our right back is injured?
Usual OTT response. As a fan base in the stadium we tend to get behind managers longer than other more demanding fan bases that was my point.

If you are dredging up the boooing thing as I’ve repeatedly told you I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve done it in 40 years. None of these have been in the PL as we are normally under resourced financially against our opponents and always have given a game top effort.

Flawed analysis.

The players on the pitch are not responsible for the recruitment and development of the squad.

The lack of able bodies for some positions puts more pressure on the round peg in square hole players to play an unfamiliar role well.

And the amount of time some of them have had to play in friendlies (Smith) as there is no back up probably led to them being injured. Kerkez has played way more minutes than he would if we had a second or third left back like other PL teams, as has Lewis Cook. Our 23 wingers should be suitably ready though….

This is the issue when you don’t have a balanced squad strategy.

Maybe we should turn to making a fortune out of breeding wingers...it was 7 now 23...what is the gestation period of a winger...

This is the most exciting season we've had in many a year and look at the absolute state of the whinging on here and elsewhere. Honestly half our support deserve failure. Absolute dross support.

Really ??...I am excited about the new season , as I have
been for every one of the 60 plus ones I've witnessed ....but a new manager ok ,
but there have been many lately just as exciting, imo

Which season were you more excited about? Perhaps the first PL one under Eddie but I agree with others that this one is even more exciting than that. New owners, new manager, anything could happen.

Believe it or not....Parkers season...and last season

Agreed. There is a palpable sense of anticipation as right now there's a belief of possibilities. It could all collapse in a heap, but hopefully not. As I said elsewhere, I expect AI to bring the excitement back to our matches. Fingers crossed it's in a good way.
