Patson Daka

Well ok lol whichever it is, hope we can find him a way to succeed. If we want to have a good season, we need some goals from him.
I'm hoping with the multiple new talents, there will be one in there who can take corners and free kicks with an eye on the tall guy. KM seems to like to flick on the incoming ball, so there is some opportunity here with the right players.

Daka ... leaving aside the mutually hostile posts on this thread (why do people do it???) it's a real shame we couldn't get the Daka deal done. Fact is we are light for strikers and a couple of injuries upfront could leave us threadbare. Seeing as Iraola likes making subs early and in numbers (good development IMO) there's going to be heavy responsibility on Moore. Maybe a few goals will wake him up - he's seemed slow and hesitant in recent games.

The issue with Moore is that he is a typical towering Nr 9 centre forward who thrives on crosses into the both from both sides. Unfortunately, we do not play to his strengths. We tend to opt for threading the ball through the front channels. Moore does not have the pace, turn and agility to play this way. Moore has the turn of a 'dumper truck' and IMO will always be an impact sub who we can bring on to disrupt opposition defences when required. Glenn Murray was very much the same, hence, why he was very much ineffective for us. He scored goals for fun whilst at Brighton because they played to his strengths. I also firmly believe that we did not get the best out of Benik Afobe because we did not utilise him correctly either.

Complete nonsense. Under the new manager we put lots of crosses into the box. 55 in three games, which is 7th highest in the PL and the rate is higher when Moore is on the pitch.

Paras from Echo transfer day story re Daka.

In the meantime, Cherries were finally making good on their interest in Patson Daka. Leicester were willing to let the Zambian go, initially on loan with a view to a permanent move.

A medical was passed, but eventually Cherries pulled out of the deal on their own accord. The club had doubts on the move as a whole, but it is possible that Moore remaining at the club contributed to the transfer being called off.

Cherries still had space in their 25-man squad for the Premier League for both Moore and Daka, and a loan move for their towering striker would have made little impact to the finances required to bring the Zambian in.

At the end of the day, Iraola seems content with the Welsh international, and has been impressed with what he has seen in training and pre-season.

Signing Daka and pushing Moore further down the pecking order would have led to a disgruntled player, and as Leeds have demonstrated, it is preferable to avoid that scenario.

Sucks because I liked the cut of this guy's jib if you will, but Moore is just going to have to get his head out of his ass, that simple.

Odd comments about an honest hard working player who doesn’t have his head up his ass. Also you do realise that Moore scored the same amount of Premier league goals as Daka in less appearances. Dodged a bullet with this one.

Very interesting.

Indeed. Almost like they felt they had to try and get someone but couldn't find what they wanted so were settling for a chancey one but then got cold feet.

I've said before I was comfortable giving Solanke, Semenyo and Moore a chance to show what they could do leading the line in the new style until the January window. If that doesn't work out, hopefully we'll have a target they really want identified by then.

Well..that's the transfers done ; now we have to get on with it starting at Brentford with what weve got... varying Forum members at loggerheads over what we should or shouldn't have in that respect..Tough Turkey.
Youse ain't the Recruitment waller's or the effing Manager.. THEY are those elements.. they are the can carriers if it goes tits up... YOUSE are the Supporters of the TEAM on the Field., whoever they are.

Got that ?

Good ...now we can get closer to what a Boscombe supporter should be..you cast aside your prawn sandwich and fookin' clapper thingys, your mobile phones and other effete crap, then you create a roaring intimidating mass for 95 minutes at the Home games thereby making DC a fortress.. a football town atmosphere...not something resembling a giggling candy floss queue at a country theme park.

The away crowd are a good example of how it should be.

I daresay we can get there one day.

Up the Cherries!

Sad thing about you pal is you think you are very clever and smart with your replies when in reality(No pun intended) you irritate every single person on here.
No he doesn't.... well not as much as I do.. and I am reasonably clever in a British way ..with the ability to irritate, word mangle, be moderately funny or hilarious depending on tolerance and taste and have dudes literally tearing their hair out with abject incredulity....reaching out in unison for them there Ignore buttons . ..in contest I don't doubt ...Sport.
A veritable torpedo broadsiding the one time tranquility of the Afcb Forum.
Rule Britannia.

Whilst I have him on ignore, he enjoys your comments. Don't feed the troll. If we all put him on ignore he's crawl back under the stone from whence he came. I don't read his comments, they are just wind ups. I think he has a really sad existence.
Ignore the ****************.

He can’t play as a lone striker in this system though. He’s very one dimensional, he’s a target man. A lone forward needs to be able to run the channels and stretch the opposition back line etc. he has qualities for sure. But more relevant is whether his qualities are suited to what we need. He scored four goals last season and every one of them was scored when playing in a front two with Dom. The moment he had to lead the line by himself he always looked out of his depth. The issue with him isn’t that he can’t be effective, it’s that he can’t be effective as a lone striker. This makes him a plan b option only, unless AI is all of a sudden going to play with a system he never has done. It means that if Dom gets injured then we are really relying on Semenyo to be able to come in and be the starting centre forward. It’s not good, we needed to upgrade in this department and we didn’t.

Players and managers will have to adapt to injuries like Howe did when Wilson did his knee and King had to take on the job. It's what they get paid for.

Your no better with that..... 'we all'....typical 'afcb' Forum elite clique sheep mentality...all pile in on one bloke ...one Boscombe Cherries Supporter.
It beggars belief.. .what a crock of sh*t this forum is from some quarters.
Who or what the f√ck do you think you are in your cosy Tory Town enclave...and obviously from the younger element....with no f√cking respect for what is termed the the 'boomer' generation...not far from death....well there's your joy to come in a few years !
