Ted shed tent update

Yes, but it wasn't quite clear what price he paid, hence my question.

And as you pointed out, if he did indeed manage to get 3 tickets together @ £39 then he should be a happy man, not an angry sweary one, so the message was a tad confusing.

What's changing is the ability to log on with max points and sit next to your mates or anywhere half decent. My normal seat was history even after 120 seconds today it was gone. It was a first though, pick your seat add it to your cart and 'sorry its gone' - nice touch Jim- never seen that one before.

However as a points holder I should now be eternally grateful I actually got a seat. I am one of the new 'entitled' - how fucking dare I moan.

People mentioning the Ted Mac going quiet ? Those same guys and gals worked their way there over 8 years to turn a morgue into the loudest part of the ground and at least give it to the oppo on their right. Now they're sat 10 rows or two blocks away next to Tarquin who visibly shrinks when you join in Nonnys red army.

You can't sit with your pals? How awful.

Christ SDD, do you have no social aspect to your following of the club at all?

I now know all of the people who sit round me but no when the shutters came down in 2014 my pals were all spread around the ground in different stands and in areas that are surrounded by ST holders. I obviously sit/stand with my pals at away games but not at DC and haven't done for nine years. Just one of those things.

Has NOC got a supporters club? A appreciation society?
No he hasn't..and he certainly doesn't want one from this Forum.
Quite the opposite....and ...and...my affection for the club is waning....for the very first time in just over 60 f√cking years !
It will never completely disappear...there will always be some kind of spark or smoulder...but ive never felt so unhinged or marginalised by what I'm experiencing with this PL stint... and by the actual PL itself !
I think the clubs marketing strategy is all to f√ck too....and I don't think a new stadium will materialise...I just dont trust Americans in English Football.

The O'Neil sacking was really a mortal blow to my enthusiasm ....and the alienation existing between myself quite a few other members is palpable...but I'm sure that the age factor is majorly significant in that...and is only going to manifest to a far worse degree. I hope so.

Come on NOC... You are one of our own.

You're an anon posting prick

Calm down sweetheart, I'm making a point that a lot of us haven't had half the flexibility you've enjoyed for the last nine years. We've also often not been able to go with pals to home games who were previously going for years but for whatever reason weren't able to acquire the right amount of points in 2014.

There's not enough seats and there are a lot of people who have had it a lot harder than you or I.

I'm so glad you're on here as the voice of reason. I care where I sit but not that much who I sit next to. My mates actually sit in another block but over the years I've got to know those around me, so yeah new mates in a kind of footie kind of way. Not the end of the world as they're now scattered all over the shop. That's hardly a luxury.

My point was more aimed at the singing section, where without doubt mates and a demographic have gathered to create an atmosphere. My situation is also their situation but I'm not there. It probably explains the drop off in atmosphere.

As for 2014 it's been possible to work your way to maximum points from zero and I know people who've done it. I also know people who couldn't be arsed because they missed that year (my brother ex ST holder).

Perhaps its an age thing or I'm just getting as cynical as hell but seeing and hearing of long standing fans not getting in because someone went to one game against L'orient kind of grips my shit.

I'm losing the will but only because of the principal, which I think is wholly wrong. Jim doesn't understand football fans or our culture. He thinks its acceptable to go to just 7/8 games a year, when in fact for many of us its a life choice. Its the reason ST holders coughed up back in the day, it's the reason points holders lived on a phone at 10am on Tuesdays / Wed for 8 years.

He's relating football to a cinema ticket with a hot dog thrown in, where you pick and choose your film rather than stubbornly stick with your team for years on end. There was always going to be a cut off and sorry if you didn't have the will to go in 2014 and before to acquire the points or ST then why should those who have gone to every league game since be the collateral.

Well, not exactly the voice of reason and although I think I have a legit point it was made in a flippant way and probably got what it deserved.

Of course I have sympathy for the folk who's life has just been made a lot more difficult with these changes. You might be right in that it's a load of b*llocks but I do think the idea of getting more fans in who are otherwise not able to go is a good one albeit they have made a right mess of implementing it.

I think my ballot idea was the way to go and the fact they've not done that and are apparently happy for it to be a big bun fight every cherries Tuesday makes you wonder quite how many tickets are allocated to this endeavour. Have they talked it up to shift the focus away from the sheer number of corporate tickets they've created?

I still think all of these hardships will be worth it if the end point is a new ground in kings park within a few years. Some of the shoddy sites that have been suggested over the years would make me think that a new KP ground would be almost too good to be true. It would certainly be easier for everyone to swallow if there were a half built ground to look at that gave us all confidence that it was actually going to happen granted.

I'm aware that so far I've not had any real hardships other than the lack of flexibility all ST holders have so it's easy for me to say the ends justify the means. I'm still optimistic they will though. If it turns out to be another false dawn I'll join you on th pitch singing "we want Foley out" in four years time.

So did you manage to get any £39 tickets, or did you have to pay the £131 ? I didn't see any normal price tickets at all, and I must have visited the ticket site at least 10 times, starting at 9.55 this morning.

So this is what happened to me. Log on at 09.55. Refresh, refresh, refresh, refresh...

10.00. Tickets available to buy. All highlighted blocks show prices of £131. Click on a highlighted block then select a seat. When I do say it says 'No tickets available in the price band', or something like that. Come out and go back in four or five times. Same thing happens.

10.02 or so. Try again. Suddenly the £31 (£31, remember, not £39) price shows when I click on a seat. Click on add to basket, says the seat isn't available and offers me an alternative three seats along. Accept, buy, job done.

Similar thing happened for the Arsenal game last time, and I expect it'll probably happen for Burnley next week.

I see that yesterday wasn't the first points drop for this game?

Was it a case that all the Ted Tent tickets had to be sold first before the other tickets were released for what then became a "Cherries Tuesday"?
