AFC Bournemouth v Wolves

Its really good to know the usual suspects dont agree with me about Cook first half. Its just confirmed my opinion that he was excellent. One minute making tackles at right back and the next playing a one two and going past 3 Wolves players. Thats why the stupid head but is so frustrating. Still, the usual lot will hate on him if he saves a goal bound shot takes it up the pitch and curls it top corner. Nothing he will do will change their opinion. As for Neil, he will bend to the wind. If Lewis had stayed on and we won he would have said it was the best performance ever. Hes so obvious it frightening.

No mention as far as I can see over Tierney absolutely bottling sending off the Wolves player for a foul on Tav, he quite clearly gave the foul realised it was going to be a second bookable offensive so instead gave the free kick to them.

Minutes later the Lewis Cook incident happened.

We said exactly that at the time.

Another wonderful consistency was Brooks being sent into the main stand by a shoulder charge. Minutes later he returns the favour to win the ball and its a foul against him.

Interesting I thought Tavernier was the only midfield player who did well first half? For you to defend Cook’s red card is astounding.
Let the team down badly.
Scott was bang average and Billing not much better - be real?

Tavernier had a really good first half, was my player to watch today.

Not defending Cook at all, he let his fellow teammates down with that mad second of action with his head.

As it shows here, a second of madness (also mentioned above in original post).

Also the frustration by our manager at Neto’s error.

I thought our starting eleven looked great on paper today, but I still have no idea what the style of play is. None of it looks organised like it did last season. That starting eleven is good enough to finish mid table in my opinion, but you wouldn't know it based on today's game. The team are definitely making the mistakes that relegated teams make. Conceding last minute goals, stupid red cards, throwing away leads, making ridiculous mistakes. All we need to do is a miss a penalty and we can complete relegation bingo.

What’s a penalty?

That's tge thing isn't it. If we'd been beaten 1-2 with no sending off and clown act from Neto again, he'd be in trouble...

He may be in trouble anyway now, but ridiculous individual 'performances' makes it a bit more a grey area one imo.
I’ve never seen a period of so many individual mistakes. Kerkez and Senesi at Brentford, Kerkez and Neto at Brighton, Zab handing it to Everton when they were nervous, then Cook and Neto today.

It’s always an interesting debate as to whether you can extricate managers from these sort of errors or not and I can see both sides without having a strong opinion.

Ultimately though the buck will stop at him and eventually hopefully the people that signed him and the bang average players we’ve blown a fortune on,

Whether he stays will boil down to two things. 1) the squads feeling towards him which Franno will know from Tommy
2) if they have someone quietly lined up who wants to come.

If those two things line up he will be gone if we don’t beat Burnley I’d imagine. Hopefully followed by the chuckle brothers.

I could see what we were doing when we had eleven men.

I don't think the manager or all of the players are sh*t, they just aren't. Ultimately though, Hughes has convinced Foley to replace the manager and has armed him with the players we have. If it fails, as it currently is, he is responsible and will be rightly sacked. It really is very simple.
it looks as if the Doc has paid the price time for Bill to wield the big axe to both Blake and Hughes whose history of managerial appoinrments and recruitment are poor.

Hat-trick of shooting ourselves in the foot. Came out for the second half virtually asleep and gifted them a goal, Lewis Cook ridiculously stupid after a good performance alongside Alex Scott and then, well Neto… nothing to add there.

Feel sorry for Andoni after that. Individual errors have cost him three points after a first half display that showed why we ditched O’Neil for Iraola.
Disagree with that. The first half I felt we were lucky to go in ahead. Apart from them hitting the bar they always looked just one touch away from scoring whenever they played a ball through our centre kid and centre backs. A couple of occasions we made last ditch challenges that were close to going into our own net. We didn't learn from that. We were competitive in the first half but certainly weren't head and shoulders better than them. Conceding straight from KO is criminal. The red card just plain stupid and the the stats don't lie. We had 34% possession and they had 20 attempts at goal to our 7. I think on the day GON got his tactics spot on. I think over the season GON has got his tactics better than AI and whatever you may think of GON his team now sits 8 points above us . I'm sure I was reading on here a few weeks ago that the start to the season was irrelevant as this batch of fixtures would kick start our season. Of course everyone will deny ever saying or thinking that now. Just Burnley to go and then we go into those winnable games against Man City and Newcastle. Oh the irony. As it stands , right now, I'd have GON over AI everyday of the week. I personally hope he has a big smile on his face tonight after the way he was treated by our club. Our first sacking should be AI followed swiftly by Blake. That's if BF has got enough time Inbetween flying around the world purchasing other football clubs.

Who wants to come to us?

Welcome Mr Allardyce

(I think, if that happened, I’d have to take a short break…)

 well said, I completely agree.

I’m furious with Cook, particularly as he was having a good game. You’re a professional footballer, experienced, exceptionally well paid, you know how important this game is for the club and yet you can’t hold it together for 90 minutes. It’s unprofessional and irresponsible.

Still quite cross with today.

I couldnt see their equaliser because people were still taking their seats so no idea what happened.

Once Cook did whatever he did we were always going to be on the bak foot but as the game went on we started to carve out some chances.

Then the goal kick. FFS. Andoni was telling Neto to slow it down, but what does he do? We're looking ok for a draw and he quickly rolls it to Billing and they press and score.

First half was better than in a long while but boy, we cannot buy a win at the moment can we?

Pre-match was the best bit of the day. Zoom with the Rocketeers then arrive at DC midday. Over to the Kings Park Bowling Club to meet @table and The Good Lady. Then another Rocketeer Becky came in with her Dad Graham, a Rocket driver.

Then over to the DC Lounge for a coffee and some biscuits.

Saw someone who remembered me from a match at Port Vale when she was with Tommy Elphicks mum, but I can't remember when we last played them.

Then the match. Oh dear.

It wasn't an excellent performance, he played well in Chelsea game but that will be his 1 game a season performance.
In this game at 1-0 the midfield wasn't amazing.
Cook lost the runner for their equalizer and then got sent off that stupid meek headbutt that has cost us the game. After 5 years he can't even be defined in a particular midfield position because his only strength is short passing and chasing shadows.
