Not yet. He'll moan about that too very soon.Neil still isn't criticising his hand picked manager I see.
Thanks...I respect your opinion on this as much as I respect your view on most things. As I say, you just give confidence I am right. It wasn't an excellent performance, he played well in Chelsea game but that will be his 1 game a season performance.
In this game at 1-0 the midfield wasn't amazing.
Cook lost the runner for their equalizer and then got sent off that stupid meek headbutt that has cost us the game. After 5 years he can't even be defined in a particular midfield position because his only strength is short passing and chasing shadows.
Second game in a row our gate has been 11,100 +.
No mention of the well taken goal by Dom.Disagree with that. The first half I felt we were lucky to go in ahead. Apart from them hitting the bar they always looked just one touch away from scoring whenever they played a ball through our centre kid and centre backs. A couple of occasions we made last ditch challenges that were close to going into our own net. We didn't learn from that. We were competitive in the first half but certainly weren't head and shoulders better than them. Conceding straight from KO is criminal. The red card just plain stupid and the the stats don't lie. We had 34% possession and they had 20 attempts at goal to our 7. I think on the day GON got his tactics spot on. I think over the season GON has got his tactics better than AI and whatever you may think of GON his team now sits 8 points above us . I'm sure I was reading on here a few weeks ago that the start to the season was irrelevant as this batch of fixtures would kick start our season. Of course everyone will deny ever saying or thinking that now. Just Burnley to go and then we go into those winnable games against Man City and Newcastle. Oh the irony. As it stands , right now, I'd have GON over AI everyday of the week. I personally hope he has a big smile on his face tonight after the way he was treated by our club. Our first sacking should be AI followed swiftly by Blake. That's if BF has got enough time Inbetween flying around the world purchasing other football clubs.
So what you say is that to run about, contribute little and get sent off for a needless head butt is fine?I will second that as another Cook fan and someone who has defended him on here many times. Today he was chasing shadows defensively, he even gave up completely on one lung busting chase back when the man was his.
Everytime he went forwards he left a gap that was huge and one he couldn’t get back to fill. Another golden example of the folly of trying to play without Lerma or a Lerma style player.
He just can’t do a one man holding role, but could be part of a double pivot if we played one. He doesn’t spray the ball either anymore. Just a tidy championship midfielder.
His head butt was right in front of us. It was madness however much the other guy faked it. It was also his right to fake it after so much stupidity.
Lots of empty seats around in all the stands today.
Interesting, are we now not counting who goes through the turnstiles like we did before?
Our gates have suddenly taken an upturn.
Did you even read the postSo what you say is that to run about, contribute little and get sent off for a needless head butt is fine?
A typical Neil Dawson post????
He has got the attendances up…Neil still isn't criticising his hand picked manager I see.
I don't hate him at all. He comes across as a very decent bloke. I just don't think he's good enough for PL. He was before his first serious knee injury. If he was that good, I think the bids would have come in for him.Its really good to know the usual suspects dont agree with me about Cook first half. Its just confirmed my opinion that he was excellent. One minute making tackles at right back and the next playing a one two and going past 3 Wolves players. Thats why the stupid head but is so frustrating. Still, the usual lot will hate on him if he saves a goal bound shot takes it up the pitch and curls it top corner. Nothing he will do will change their opinion. As for Neil, he will bend to the wind. If Lewis had stayed on and we won he would have said it was the best performance ever. Hes so obvious it frightening.
I’ve never seen a period of so many individual mistakes. Kerkez and Senesi at Brentford, Kerkez and Neto at Brighton, Zab handing it to Everton when they were nervous, then Cook and Neto today.
It’s always an interesting debate as to whether you can extricate managers from these sort of errors or not and I can see both sides without having a strong opinion.
Ultimately though the buck will stop at him and eventually hopefully the people that signed him and the bang average players we’ve blown a fortune on,
Whether he stays will boil down to two things. 1) the squads feeling towards him which Franno will know from Tommy
2) if they have someone quietly lined up who wants to come.
If those two things line up he will be gone if we don’t beat Burnley I’d imagine. Hopefully followed by the chuckle brothers.
Dos rubiasWhat is the Spanish for "two blondes'?
I think Moore should have come on soon after we went down to 10. That's when you need a KM. Launch the balls in there and let him cause trouble.Would have put Semenyo on myself rather than Moore as we needed someone to take the ball upfield with a bit of pace and strength and Moore is not the man for that.
