The fighting pride of Bournemouth Chris Billam Smith

I'll give them a call. On the stream I saw, one guy was constantly wrapping his arms around another in some kind of hugging wrestling move, despite the objections from the other party. Hopefully they can do something about it.
I was thinking just the other day, if there was a guaranteed rematch clause in the contract for that fight, who the heck is going to want to go and see that ?
Presumably there wasn't one or if there was, they decided that Okolie had stunk the place out so bad that a rematch would not be financially viable ! :wagging:

I understand that Chris is hoping to stage his next title fight at Dean Court again. In order to vastly raise the international profile of the event and enable the Club to charge a lot more for the use of the stadium perhaps Mark Zuckerberg vs Elon Musk and Neil Dawson vs SD Derek could be added to the bill?

I wonder if Neil and my fans would bite each others ears off in the crowd like the last DC boxing match.

Jai Opetaia just put on the perfect performance in a 3 round KO, defending his title against Jordan Thompson. Promoter Eddie Hearn had $ in his eyes in the interview after, saying he wants him to fight in America and become a superstar and went through a list of names that didn't include CBS. Jai Opetaia said he wants CBS' belt, Eddies facial expression changed. The fight nearly happened before. His dad was in Bournemouth for the first CBS fight at the BIC and wanted to come down here (apparently).
It seems CBS' next fight is the rematch against Okolie because the rematch clause has been activated. It will probably be in November and can't happen at Dean Court because the football and sh't weather. It will probably be at the BIC because the first fight got too much criticism to fill out a larger venue in London. Boxing fans were hoping for a more entertaining opponent because all the clinching (from Okolie) was a throwback to the days of Audley Harrison V Sprott where you would see a punch or 2 each round.
If CBS beats Okolie in the rematch this winter, then maybe Riakporhe or Opetaia as soon as the football season finishes at Dean Court and then over to Australia in the next winter?

As I mentioned above, selling tickets for the rematch will be a challenge.
Surely seeing that "fight" once was enough for everybody ?
Even the biggest CBS Überfan would have to be a bit of a masochist to pay good money to put themselves through that again !

Wake me up when CBS has beaten old Huggy Bear again and something more interesting is on his horizon  God, that fight is going to be a hard sell !
