Fulham v AFC Bournemouth

Before the season started you'd say wingers were are our biggest strength and depth but they've all been disappointing considering the competition of places with the exception of Sini which was probably the deciding factor we decided to sign him permanently early.

I wouldn't have taken him off. I'm not sure if AI is worried about breaking him or what.

I wouldn't have either as he's only winger who has looked threatening all season. He does have a bit more individualism about him similar to that of Danjuma which maybe makes viewed less of a team player but he's clearly far more naturally talented than the rest of our wingers.

So apart from our result, the games today were mixed results as far as AFCB go.

Luton Town, Everton and Nottingham Forest all lost.

Brentford beating Wolves has narrowed the gap between our two clubs to two points. Wolves still are five points above us but have played one game more.

As has been said a bad day at the office excluding Senesi. Disappointing display but is of concern no leadership on the pitch.

More fool me because I was hoping for 5-7 points from our last three games. Two tough ones ahead. We seem to be headed for the mushy middle.

However, March looks really compelling and we could well go on another run.

Scott is a bit of an odd one, I think. At times he looks like a world beater and at other times he makes Billing look like the Energizer bunny. He needs time obviously but today I thought he looked well off the pace again.
From what I have seen of him, I prefer him
deeper so he can carry the ball forward. Not sure ten suits him tbh. Still time for that to change of course

After Newcastle and City it might be 7 without a win and look bit closer in points.

Yet I still feel strangely the most confident of staying up more than any of our previous 5 seasons in PL we survived because those 5 seasons had better teams - I saw Villa, Newcastle, Leicester, Leeds, Saints all get relegated during that time who all had better individuals than us.
I think we're clearly better than the 3 promoted teams just need to be professional and get the job done quick as possible.
I never got carried away and thought 7th place conference league was ever going to happen with big 6 and likes of Villa, Newcastle and Brighton. Our best chance of Europe is to win FA Cup.

Considering we’ve signed so many wingers you’d think we’d have had a good one. We were saying the wingers you want to see the most at a Bournemouth game is whoever is on the bench.

I think Sini is good Neil but less likely to track back etc which is the sacrifice.
I think Tav is biggest disappointment this season as he was one of our best players last season.
Semenyo im pretty sure was a striker for Bristol City but he's clearly not a PL level striker so plays wide, has the odd good game but not enough, awful against Forest.
I've never been convinced by Dango I don't think he's got the brain.
Kluivert hard to tell what he is as he's not been effective wide but has made more impact behind Solanke.
Anthony and Brooks- loaned out.
And Christie has played wide but clearly can't be a wide PL player, end of the day pace is the key attribute a PL winger simply must have.

AI said we were never as bad as our results suggested at the start of the season and that we were not as good as our results suggested in our good run before Xmas. He was right. We are a work in progress and today showed that. A few key players below par and we struggle. I also think he doesn't know what his best team is.
Disappointing especially as at 2-1 I really thought we were right back in it. I think our new challenge is no longer when will we get a penalty but when will Dom get a free kick?

Most disappointing performance of the season, but 25 shots, ok only 4 on target. First half we were poor, but was much better in the 2nd.
Cook and Christie were ok, not the best. Thought Scott and tavenier looked lost
Performance was fine just let down a bit with the finishing. The match was probably one of the most entertaining games of Premier League football I've seen where the result didn't go our way.

Cook gifted them their first on a plate but I think we'd have the better of the chances by at least 1xG closer to 2 with that chance removed. Felt a bit like because we were able to launch attacks virtually at will we were very wasteful with some of the shots taken.

Refereeing again poor, no idea how Solanke got manhandled twice in quick succession but ended up being carded for it.

i agree and i think he has mainly played before as an 8 also known as a box to box

sini is like you said our best winger and has that something about him. top wingers are not always the best tracking back etc but they be a spark in a second of excellence

Oh, and one more, just for Brian

Because of a woeful first half, we didn’t deserve to win today, it was entirely the team’s fault that we didn’t

Having said that, the officials were dire. Minimal decisions in our favour, Solanke got repeatedly fouled with no free kick given, time wasting by Fulham from the seventh minute onwards allowed to go unchecked, our possession pulled back because of non-head injuries to Fulham dying swans. The ref exercised no control whatsoever
Was the ref a man? (Some thought that made a difference last week)

I don't think anyone thought it made a difference last week. Last week was up there as the worst refereeing performance we've encountered this season. Today's ref made some strange decisions aswell including continuously stopping play for Fulham players to receive treatment for non head injuries. I think youre just pathetically trying to make headlines.

I agree. Give your head a wobble purbeck.
