Non - Labour Party

So the ostriches are waking up and voting Labour ? It looks like just as many voted Reform, how did the greens do btw?
"Just as many voted Reform"

Total Labour votes last night.. 25020

total reform votes last night.. 6497

*I know what you are trying to say around the move from Cons but lets be clear on the actual vote numbers here.

The worry is for the Lib Dems who are not persuading enough people to vote for them.
The decline and fall of the Conservative and Unionist party will continue if the way ahead is to appeal even more to the Reform minded votes.
Who do people of the ilk of One Nation conservatism vote for ?

the pitiful turnouts speak volumes about the state of politics in this country

very few, other than the usual weirdos with nothing better to do, really give a toss and are sick and tired of the relentless negativity

Last night's results prove that people are finally dismissing the anti Labour smears perpetuated by the tabloids and the BBC. On the day we enter a recession, the Tories are still trying to bribe voters with false promises of tax cuts. People are waking up. This government has already put the biggest tax burden on the public since the war. It will be fun over the next few moths to watch the handful of Tory apologists still left on this board.
Careful now Stan you almost sound happy!

Though ostriches waking up sounds a bit Nigel Pearson-esq.

As someone who could vaguely come under that grouping, its a question I don’t really have an answer for, other than write sweary things on the ballot paper.

37% turnout isn't particularly low for a by-election, especially one less than a year before a general election is going to be held.

Like a Turkey voting for Christmas? (bird theme and all that)
Is it though? The polls and the by elections show that the people have had enough after 14 years of despair. Even a government under Starmer would offer us some relief from the pain. I know you still love this bunch of shysters but pretty soon you’ll be just like me. A minority voice.

I love your attempts to disassociate yourself from Labour before they even get in. 'Pain', 'despair' ? You and Jim are like peas in a pod.

You're not in any pain or despair, you probably lead a very comfortable existence.

I lead a very comfortable existence and it matters not who’s in power. However, unlike you, I don’t vote selfishly to make my life better.
