Hamed Traore

I'd hope that we've got an eye on managers that have a similar style of play if this is what Bill wants to see on the pitch long term. Particularly if we know there's a chance that Iraola won't sign a new contract. Absolutely no idea if there is, and if there is if they'd be interested in us.

good players can adapt their style to suit how good managers want them to play, given time

we have good players so, if, as rumoured, he won't sign a new contract it's not the end of the world despite what some would have you believe

But we have changed our system, via Iraola...??? I agree that we hopefully have several names on a piece of paper that can carry on from Iraola, should he leave after 2 years (Which I seriously hope he doesn't)... However, we have a manager that has dictated our style of play... I very much doubt Foley laid out the detail of what he wanted, he just knew he wanted a more attacking style of play... Iraola has brought that and is 100% shaping the team in his philosophy and play...

His style will be difficult to replicate for a new manager, and I do worry about him just getting the team to click next year and he buggers off...
Yes we have changed our style and should have from the off. Clearly there will be nuances between managers but the club should decide the overall ethos.

People claiming different are in cuckoo land. It we appointed Moyes you’d know what you would get wouldn’t you, so he wouldn’t be on the list of a club with a flair and risk ethos but high on the list of a pragmatic low risk ethos club.

I don’t think anyone has suggested it would be the end of the world if Iraola left. Not that I’ve seen anyway.

What makes these things the end of the world would be if the chuckle brothers get caught out by it and spend a frantic week courting John Terry or Frank Lampard in Rick Steins like usual. Hopefully the success of this appointment has taught them to look for bright over achieving coaches with decent relevant experience and attacking flair.

Hi John, Hi Frank. We’d like to meet you about a job. Keep it quiet.
Rick Steins ok?
You were duped there I’m afraid.

you'd be bawling your little eyes out
don't pretend otherwise ffs
That’s why I said ‘the’ world not ‘my’ world.

I don’t want to be like you when GON left and was replaced by a foreigner… sat in your Union Jack T-shirt crying and shouting at your Alexa to play Land of Hope and Glory on repeat.

Traore's starting tonight against Barcelona. Reading their forum on google translate they're in two minds about signing him at the end of the loan. Some comments are a little 'Dango-esque' in how some are starting to view him. That said he changed the game in the first leg when he came on.

I won't be watching but will probably read the verdict about his performance tomorrow.

It’s good they’ve heard of Dango though…

It'll be interesting to see what they made of his performance.

I watched it until he went off. He's a funny player, really neat and tidy in possession but also seems to stroll around a bit. I thought he was one of Napoli's better players on the night and wouldn't be surprised if they sign him.

Similar thoughts to me. I did notice he’s one of those players who likes to point to where the player in possession should pass the ball. Not short on confidence.

Fasting for Ramadan won't help our chances of him getting signed after the loan.

There's no way players who fast for religious purposes can perform at optimum levels when their performance levels are affected by calorific intake.

Just wish Fletch was a Muslim back in the day, would have been nice to see him fast for once.

What position/role did he play?
