Does anyone seriously believe that Hughes made the final decision on the Adams signing anyway? He will obviously have explained his injury situation to Foley who will have then made the final decision. Iraola said as much in an interview that the club knew what they were getting themselves into with the signing. He was always signed as a long term option and not one to play immediately, it wasn’t a shock to anyone that it took so long for him to get fit. You can only argue that this was a flawed strategy if it cost us our position in the league, which it hasn’t. It was actually very smart. We will start next season with a top DM who we signed at well bellow his actual market value and we haven’t really lost anything in return (aside from the players wages.)
