Non - What to watch?

We watched this last night too Was a bit strange and was expecting the "hero" to end up on the wrong end of it instead of the hoorays

Spoiler alert******* re Saltburn

Exactky that. Clicked for me when they visited his parents, which revealed deep seated issue about them/his background, lying about sisters etc. Despite it being a decent upbringing, not poor etc.

Very much felt he was the 'prey' for the 1st half or so.

It was strange, but gripping/engaging throughout. I usually find my attention drifting during films/series in recent years, but this kept me focused throughout. Very good imo.

Continuing on my nostalgia concert video tour.

Stumbled over Queen at Wembley 1986. Freddie at his best, and Brian playing some fine rock guitar. You kind of forget about Roger's drumming abilities but they were in evidence here and John laying down the bass line. Really good.

Which of course led to Live Aid - and a who's who of 1985 music-dom. Too long to list, look it up if you never have before. Freddie spell-binding.

Which then led to the 1992 Freddie Mercury tribute concert. Queen doing "duos" with multiple acts, which also did solos. George Michael superb, Guns great, and what the heck was Liza Minelli doing there?

Was at this concert in January 2015 with my wife when they were at the O2 in London.

Great concert and it also featured a duet between Adam Lambert and Freddie Mercury (hologram).

Glad you got to see that BtK. We have been twice to their show (2019 and 2023). Absolutely great stuff. Adam readily admits that he is not Freddie, but his style and flair have brought Queen's music to a whole new generation. We were sitting next to a mom and her daughter, who must have been around 20. She was unabashedly excited to see the band, in a genuine (not the "look-at-me" selfie) way.

I thought it was going to be similar to Cruel Intentions from back in the day but other than it being about very rich families it couldn't be more different.

It wouldn't surprise me if some posters on here replicate the bath tub scene on a regular basis.

I'm glad Murder on the Dancefloor by Sophie Ellis Bextor got some renewed recognition good song back in the day.

I watched Society in the Snow which was based on the true story of a Urugayan rugby team whose plane crashed in the Andes and had to cannibalize their dead friends to survive.

I also watched Next goal wins -also based on true story of the worst international football team in the world American Samoa who once lost 31-0 to Australia. They get a new dutch coach with a tragic past who guides them to their first ever win in WC qualifying.

Really enjoyed Next Goal Wins. Society of Snow I’ve planned to watch on iPad on the return journey from Newcastle.

fantastic final episode. Awesome
I agree a brilliant series. Wrote off Series 1 within 5 minutes thinking it was just another over-hyped reality show. But having watched first couple of episodes of series 2, stopped it and went back and watched Series One entirely, so Series two coming next. Found it completely compelling, the psychology and interaction fascinating. My daughter’s hooked too- watching the American version (also set in Scotland apparently), ATM, there’s also new Australian and NZ series out this year. Never thought I’d like this but have to say I’m hooked.

I’ve watched the US and Australian versions, also brilliant, particularly the American one.

Would say season 2 of the UK one is the best yet.

Been watching Seaside Hotel (Badehotellet) on Channel 4.

Bit different, easy watching and enjoyable.

Some of it could be out of a Whitehall Farce.

If you liked Kin you have to watch Love\hate .....its on ITV player.
Still the best series I've ever watched.
Just finished series 3. Treacherous bunch of xxxxx. Who needs enemies when you got friends like that?
You'll love it if your entertained by drugs, shootings and inter friendship shagging. The murky world of a Dublin drug gang.

Yeah the end of series three certainty gives you a kick in the nuts doesn't it?

Also recently discovered there’s a Canadian one- hosted by Karine Vanasse (Lise Delorme from Cardinal, Frances Walsh in Hidden Assets Series 2). Think she would be excellent, worth watching just to watch her (with napkin for appropriate drooling ) but don’t know where to watch it. Anyone?
