AFC Bournemouth v Liverpool - Sunday 4.30 pm

Key issue - isolation of Solanke against two big, classy CBs. We need a second striker to distract defenders and to give Dom some space. Kluivert anonymous today and too often the ball wouldn’t stick upfront. Surely it’s goodbye to Moore, who’s way off the pace in the PL. Liked Zab’s showing …
Moore looked okay when he came on today

It should be good bye to all three of the Welsh contingent. Moore, not good enough. Brooks, just doesn't suit AI ball. Mepham, where do we start?

Showed the issue with an imbalanced squad recruitment. We started the season with one orthodox left back and one centre forward that can play Iraolaball. We’ve got lucky that Solanke has stayed fit. We haven’t got lucky with defensive injuries and wasted a wage in Fredericks.

I imagine Bill is wondering how he’s spent 200m and got Marcondes and Kilkenny on the bench. Hopefully Hughes rumoured moving on at the end of the window will allow us to address these things in the summer.
A typical bad loser statement, lets blame the person you dislike the most.

bill is probably sat there thinking "we have 6 matchday squad players out and still field a good side"

Second half saw the confused positions, poor passing, and isolated Solanke that we saw for the first few games of the season. Concerning to see those issues creep back in but a lot of that no doubt comes down to the level of opposition.

Never a 4-0 game though and disappointed not to score at least one.

We've got the chance to put it behind us Thursday in a winnable game, but we'll need some full backs. Anyone playing sunday league - take your boots just in case!

I thought we matched them in the first half but looked very scrappy in the second. Lots of individual mistakes; Neto retreating to his line and forcing the defender to put the ball out for a corner, Scott daydreaming for their third, were two that stood out for me but there were so many misplaced passes. Shame, but you can't win them all, especially if you're playing either of the top two teams.

I thought we made some good sliding strong tackles but everytime we did that in the middle Liverpool always captured the loose ball from said tackles and punished us.
that golfer Gary Player once said the more I practice the luckier I get and it holds truth in Sport because at times it feels like a divine force is at play.

All my life I've seen better teams always get result defining luck added on top of their advantageous superior quality in class- whether it's a 50/50, a loose ball, a deflection and that's not including key decisions made by officials.

But luck excuses aside I admit Liverpool are clearly just a better team than us and 9/10 times the team with the more talented players wins the game.
They would've had more titles these last 8 years under Klopp if it wasn't for an insane freak of nature team like City who have the best manager ever.

Anyone watching sky to see the new exciting afcb team under AI will be very disappointed . As others have said, looked like the September team rather than December variant. Second half was a wake up call.

Of course, liverpool looked strong but offensively we were well short. Injuries at the back don’t help but it was our offensive issues that worried me today.

I like Dom but reckon the last 2 games have knocked £25m off his price tag but he didn’t get much help today.

Think we missed semenyo today to give a bit more physicality upfront.

Do think we missed 3 absolute sitters though today - christie, Moore and brooks

My take was we were pretty decent 1st half especially first and last 10 mins. In between we competed well but our passing was a bit off throughout. Second half it just wasn't happening for us in the final third and their quality up front eventually showed although letting Nunez score twice is a bit embarrassing!

Our press didn't work as well today as it has previously, I think we missed Semenyo's energy up top. We also missed Senesi's ability to ping the ball accurately from distance as there were gaps to exploit but we just couldn't do it. 4-0 definitely flattered them - they were the better team but 2-0 or 3-1 would have been a fairer reflection in my opinion.

Not going to get too down about today, these sorts of days will happen now and then especially when we come up against the quality of the bigger clubs

25m knocked off for not scoring against Spurs and Liverpool lol. Rashford must be worth £100 then. Dom didn't miss a clear chance today.
The only clear chance I remember was the Brooks one the rest weren't clear cut half chances and snap shot that were nearly all blocked

Was at the game and enjoyed it, but obviously not the result.
First half performance was excellent.
These players will make mistakes, as they continue to learn and develop.
Liverpool got the ball forward with pace and purpose, and instinctively knew when to shoot and had the better players to do it accurately.
Christie was impressive again, and our style of play is positive.
Not much to be unhappy about.

It's not a surprise is it that Klopp would have an idea how to nullify Solanke's threat by instructing his defenders how best to deal with it...
...Klopp was his manager for his time at Liverpool...and although he speaks highly of Dom, he will, being a canny experienced gaffer, have a damn good knowledge of Dom's strengths and weaknesses.
