A Hat-Trick Of Home Wins Against Liverpool?

After our comeback to win at Loftus Road against QPR in the FA Cup 3rd Round and a short winter break, the Cherries next game is back at Dean Court in the Premier League on Sunday at 4.30 pm. The game is being shown live on Sky, our visitors are Liverpool. Our team will be looking for a hat-trick of wins against Liverpool in this league at Dean Court. It won’t be easy with Liverpool in good form and on an unbeaten run of thirteen games in the league. With our team now playing the ‘Iraola’ style of football, we could be in for an entertaining and exciting game of football.

Last season was Jurgen Klopp’s lowest points total in all the full seasons as their manager, finishing in 5th place with 67 points. When Klopp took over from Brendan Rodgers in October 2015, Liverpool were in 10th position after eight games with 12 points, this was after the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool which finished in a 1-1 draw, Rodgers was sacked an hour after the game. Liverpool finished the season in 8th place with 60 points.

In the 2016-17 season, Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge, Liverpool finished in 4th place with 76 points. The 2017-18 season they also finished in 4th place with one point less and 75 points. 2018-19 was Klopp’s best season to date and they finished in 2nd place with 97 points, one point less than the Champions Manchester City. 2019-20 was to be Jurgen Klopp’s best season, finishing as Champions with 99 points, eighteen more points than second place Manchester City. 2020-21 Liverpool finished in 3rd place with 69 points, Manchester City were Champions with 86 points, the lowest total since Leicester City won the title with 81 points in 2015-16, the season Klopp joined Liverpool. The 2021-22 season, Liverpool finished in 2nd place with 92 points, one point again behind Champions Manchester City, as they did in the 2018-19 season.

This season Liverpool are having a good season, head of the Premier League table after 20 games with 45 points. At the start of the season they continued their eleven game unbeaten run from last season to nineteen, until that run came to an end in North London against Spurs. The run included 14 wins and 3 draws. Seven of the wins were this season, the first was Liverpool’s game against AFCB at Anfield.

On their travels since our game, Liverpool have beaten Newcastle 1-2, Wolves 1-3, Sheffield United 0-2, Crystal Palace 1-2 and Burnley 0-2. They drew 2-2 at Brighton, 1-1 with Luton Town and 1-1 with Manchester City. They have only lost one game and that was 2-1 against Spurs (mentioned above), which ended their long unbeaten run. At home they have beaten AFCB, Aston Villa, West Ham, Everton, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Fulham and Newcastle United. Drawn with Manchester United and Arsenal.

The last time our two sides met at Dean Court was in March last season. There was only one goal in the game and that scored was scored in the first half by Philip Billing for the Cherries. In the second half Liverpool were awarded a penalty, Mo Salah hit it wide and AFCB won 1-0. That was also our second win against Liverpool, the first being that memorable 4-3 Premier League game in the 2016-17 season.

In all our home league games against Liverpool, AFCB have W 2, D 0, L 4.
All competitions, AFCB have W 2, D 3, L 16.

AFCB Team News
Marcus Senesi will miss this game after picking up five yellow cards. James Hill is available after being recalled from his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers.

AFCB Player To Watch
Dominic Solanke will be out to add to his tally of 12 goals and score his first goal against his old club. Scored 8 from his last eight games.

Liverpool Team News
Mo Salah and Wataru Endo will miss this game as they are away playing for their countries. On the injury front, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas are among the players who could miss this game. Dominik Szoboszlai is also a doubt.

Liverpool Player To Watch
Without Mo Salah, it will be up to Darwin Nunez to start hitting the net on a regular basis. So far the £85 million player has scored 5 goals and has 6 assists in 12 starts and 7 sub appearances.

The Referee
Andy Madley is in charge of this game, we had him for the away game against Sheffield United.

Szoboszlai is the wild card. Lots of big names out for them, but this guy can be a real difference maker, and if he's out, I like our chances for "something".

He's quality. Not sure I'd say he's a wild card as such, as he's extremely well regarded... and cost £60 mill from leipzig.

From the Liverpool Echo.

Let’s hope the last para is correct.

Also without their ‘talisman’ who is away on international duty, plus the key players missing this game due to injury, we must be in with a shout.

Dominik Szoboszlai had offered a hint earlier in the month that he could return for the trip to the Vitality Stadium having been absent with a hamstring problem for the past fortnight.

The Hungary international, however, was conspicuous by his absence although, with four days remaining until the game, there remains time for Szoboszlai to resume training.

But his assessment the League Cup semi-final second leg at Fulham next Wednesday is a more realistic target appears well reasoned.

Liverpool have quite a lot of key players unavailable, so this may be a really good time to play them, like when we played Newcastle.

Can't see us getting anything as we have far too many players unavailable to impact the game.
Pantomime season still continues I see

No one has a clue who is fit or injured. Know Senesi is out but little else. Same for liverpool.

Why don’t you just wait for the press conference to gather the facts and then give a prediction. Just makes you look ignorant tbh.
