Gavin Kilkenny

He was none of the above the year we were promoted.Eddie and Parker saw something in him, Woodgate and o Neill didn't.club obviously kept him in case we relegated and let himout on loan.got injured straight away at Stoke and didn't seem to get his game back since.probably needs to move on as he needs to play
There’s a player in him. The maturity he showed in the games in our promotion season was excellent. At one stage he was running them…

So we know it’s there it would be good if someone can bring it back.

That game away at Bristol City. Looked exceptional. Mobile, kept the ball moving well, looked to move it forwards, not just sideways/backwards. Looked the real deal and destined to have a future with us at that point.

Odd how things work out sometimes.

Must have had one of the strangest careers of any Bournemouth player. Genuinely ran the show at times in a top championship team, yet has to settle for a move to a league one club that is essentially already relegated (barring a miracle.) He’s looked good the majority of times that he has played for us, yet seems to be rated by very few in the game. Didn’t get a sniff at Stoke or Charlton. Such a weird one to work out.

It is baffling.

I read Charlie Adam has brought seven new players in and that's back to back wins now for Fleetwood.

Fleetwood have a link with Waterford Town and Gavin is their seventh Irishman so should feel at home!

Kilkenny links up with Jayden Stockley.

The only real comparison I can think of is a "no nonsense" fullback who puts in crunching slide tackles. Fans love to see it but actually what's more difficult and more helpful to the team is instead of conceding a defensive throw in from every tackle, if he wins the ball staying on his feet and manages to pass his way out of danger. The consequence of this is that he makes fewer tackles and also sometimes misplaces a pass and puts the team under pressure which will lower fans opinion of him.

IMHO Kilkenny is the CM version of that.

Looks like he became a firm fixture in the starting team for Fleetwood after his loan, but couldn't help them stay up.

24 now, I don't think it's doing anyone any good for him to do anything but find a permanent new home where he can rebuild. I've been banging that drum for a while now, but I don't like this hoarding of players if a team is never going to use them. See the career of Nat Phillips.

I hope he does well and goes on to have an excellent career but it feels like a waste of talent to have him getting nowhere near the team at this stage.
