Non - What to watch?

Yeah the end of series three certainty gives you a kick in the nuts doesn't it?
That is Love/Hate completed. 5 series binge watched within a couple of weeks. I thought it was excellent with some really good
acting. Really liked Janet the brothel manager and that lunatic Fran. I guess Fran's ending could be described as getting 'snookered on the brown'!:eek!:
I like watching grubby, dirty TV like that. Amazed I hadnt come across it before now.

It was huge over here about 10 years ago......i think ITV have only just picked it up........Fran lol......COOLABOOLA!

Finished Patriot last night an Amazon series. 2 series of 8 episodes each. Really good. Dark comedy, funny, sad, the lot.

Film called Will on Netflix. Dark WW2 story confronting massive dilemmas in the face of threat. It follows young recruited local policemen in Antwerp. Definitely not a feeling good movie as it goes to some nasty depths but it felt realistic and is quite haunting and memorable. It's on Netflix. Subtitled.

Just finished watching Anatomy of a Scandal on Netflix - excellent political / legal intrigue, great characters, plot kept progressing right till the final events.

And watching Criminal Record just as fast as I can - what's this thing about only releasing one episode per week? - London criminal / police underworld, also excellent though the plot keeps jumping around in very small pieces. Peter Capaldi as ?corrupt? or ?non-corrupt? detective.

Both well-produced and deep, comparing morals then and now.

The really annoying thing with 2/3 of the series is, we have to have sub-titles on to understand a lot of the dialogue. Which seriously detracts from the experience. An age thing no doubt.

Do you possibly have an "English" option? Was recently watching something on Prime with subtitles, and accidentally tripped over a language menu. Clicked on English and there it was.

Prefer watching foreign programmes in their own language and have subtitles.

Some are done with English dubbing, not as good IMO.

Not sure if that is what you are referring to.

Also some of the sound quality of series on BBC etc are poor and we put on the subtitles.

No, Billy, was referring to JohnHold suggesting that subtitles were annoying, so speculating that there might be a work-around .........

The programmes he mentioned are in English the latter on Apple TV.

So I thought he meant the English spoken wasn’t clear, hence using subtitles.

But probably could be mistaken.

We have subtitles on for English spoken because some of what is said is not always clear and that could be down to accents or just the actors mumbling or just poor sound quality.

Those Rhubarb Rhubarb films were odd.

I put subtitles on most of Netflix as I never cn hear what they are saying, my doctor said just turn the sound up, seemed fair enough to me.

Just started watching masters of the air. It has the same writers as band of brothers but this series follows the 8bomber squadron. 4 episodes in and it’s great so far every episode has new mission and lots of fighting. Gives u a good feel of life flying in tight formation on bombing raids.
Only negative thus far is how the RAF were briefly portrayed

....... can't miss with Elvis in the cast ..............

Tried to watch an episode of traitors.... couldn't do it...had to turn it off.......what a load of absolute boll0x.
Try again Top Farrier. Honestly, it’s great. Give it three episodes. I’m not usually one for choreographed gimmicky shows but found this compelling, after turning off from series 1. Good luck
