AFC Bournemouth v Manchester City - Saturday 5.30 pm

Jarred Gillet is without doubt the worst ref in the league.

Against an even matched team he just ruins the game.

Against one of the 'top 6' it's like playing against 12 men.

Fast track referees, I name checked him after the Welch game.

Pretty good half considering we have to contend against both City and the officials. The yellow card for Cook is a joke.
I saw a lot of errant long passes, in particular Tavernier seems to be struggling. Many balls that ended up too close to Ederson. Good chance for Kerkez. We could still get something from this.

Not a terrible performance, i think we ran out of steam a bit, we need to use subs wisely. I feel like we can still get something from this as long as the ref plays the game fair.
Now AI earns his dosh on how he makes changes at Ht and in the rest of the half.

2nd sentence, what are you talking about?
Did you watch Quattara covering at left back earlier in the season? He was very good. Kerkez is an attacking full back. There are question marks about the quality of his defending in general, though.

The Spanish commentators are loving this game.
They also know our team.
Before the kickoff they said “Christie, with his inexhaustible engine”.
Then, when Kerkez had that shot on target they said that it was very nearly a Charlie Daniels moment.

Apart from the passage of play that led to the goal, we managed to match City for 45 minutes.

Andoni clearly prepared the players well, said the right things and they’ve bought into it and delivered.
Can’t complain at all. A great effort so far.

One more thing.

The referee’s a w*nker.

However well we play, we will not be allowed to deprive City of all three points tonight.

Accept that and enjoy our attempts to match one of the very best teams in the world.

Think about that for a moment and think how far we’ve come.

I love this team. They leave everything out there.

Love how City players stayed on their feet until they're in a good free kick position then they just theatrically collapse and ref fell for it every time. Cook's yellow in particular was shameful. Any such tackle on our players (like in extra time) just got waved off.

Pretty pleased with our performance it's always hard against what is probably the best side in the world with a referee behind them but we're looking very dynamic in attack and defense.

If it wasn't for the refereeing I'd feel this our greatest chance of breaking our duck.
Never a yellow even if he wants to give a foul

Not able to watch today but glad to read this.

Another thing.
Have you noticed how the whole team feel confident in playing the ball to Christie, even in the tightest of situations ?
The amazing thing is, nine times out of ten, it ends well.
What a talent and he must be loving playing for us right now !
