Aston Villa tickets

How many fans will commit to buying if a revised date is still to be decided ?
Could it even be shifted to the Monday ?
Exactly. I am one of quite a number who cannot commit unless there is a firm date.

The longer the uncertainty exists, the more the price of travel (and for some, accommodation) goes up.

The worry then is that our ticket office will decide that this is low demand and take a smaller number of tickets.

Remember the days when we used to have something called a fixture list?
The term fixture meaning that, unless there was bad weather and a match was postponed at short notice, the date and kick-off time were fixed.

Well partly DJ yes, but as I said they haven't made public exactly what the sales activity requirement is. Call me cynical but I'll have a wager that no matter how many tickets have been sold by the 20th March we will inevitably end up with just the 1,598 allocation.

At least there is an off sale date for those who may wait and get caught out like the Newcastle game.

With a cut off date supporters at least now do have a choice on buying by that date, I would then assume if the allocation was close to selling out bu the 19th/20th, then the next block etc would become available.

Sure it’s over complicated by the fixture date being moved, but an improvement by the club should still be acknowledged and appreciated even if it’s not perfect.

If you take your falsies out and swirl them around your gums they last way longer.

Werth the wait.
Now this is an interesting point.

I once tried to see how long one of those boiled travel sweets would last while driving up the M6 (other motorways are available), and my record was 23 minutes before it disappeared. Has anyone on here matched that? Just interested.

So a 7 minute break between Werthers would get Redharry to Brum on his allocation of 6 Werthers ? That's interesting to know ;)

If it needs to be moved it’ll be to Sunday 2pm. Same for all games moved due to Europa/Conference league participation on the Thursday night.

The poverty days of course. You want £100m each year then it comes with downsides too, sadly

There was an "off sale" date published for the Newcastle game too if you recall but the club chose to go "off sale" a whole month before it.

But that’s exactly what I mean, there is now an off sale date for when the club make that decision so people do not get caught out like last time. Which was the complaint. The club have now fixed that.

So you're saying there is now an "off sale" date for the "off sale" date?
You could just agree with me and stop being so SDD DJ. What I'm saying is not that contentious. The club is saying we can have 3,000 tickets but if an unspecified number of tickets are not sold by this time next week for a match taking place nearly six weeks away with an, as yet, unconfirmed KO time or date then they will simply close down around half that possible 3,000 allocation.
They haven't said what the required sales activity is that would satisfy them but I will bet you that whatever we have sold by next week it won't be enough to satisfy them and we will be looking at the reduced allocation.

“Just shut up and agree with me”, feels more like you’re channelling your own SDD :)

I didn’t realise it was so hard to just give the club a nod when they’ve made a move to improve things. But, the floor is all yours.

But as I keep pointing out it may be a step in the right direction by the club but it doesn't really help that much. An unknown amount of tickets have to be bought by this time next week or else we will have our allocation chopped in half. As yet we do not know for definite when the game will be played, so for many people (including yourself I suspect) they will find it hard to commit to buying a ticket when there are travel and accommodation issues yet to be resolved. It would be far better if the club said they would reassess how many tickets to take nearer the time once it is known for certain when the game will be played.
As it is we all know that the secret sales activity criteria (whatever it is) will not be reached by this time next week and we will have our allocation chopped in half. Those who may be hoping for general sale will be out of luck as it wasn't even going to general sale until the day after they will chop it.
There will be pages on this thread next week of people complaining about not being able to get tickets.
Frankly it's tinpot and not good enough.

The secret number will surely be 1,500 tickets.

We took 6,000 in the cup, 3,000 in our first year in the PL... hasn't every other time been just the one tier anyway?
I don't know. Anecdotally I know there is a lot of interest in going this time round and if we are on a run and pushing for a top half finish I don't think it inconceivable that we'd have 3,000 there if we had the tickets.

In my opinion anyone who wants a ticket should proceed on the assumption that the allocation will be just the one tier.
