Milos Kerkez

Anyone else starting to think Kerkez isn't all that?......i had high hopes for him when he first came but i look at him now and think meh.......what does he do?.....not particularly great defensively and more importantly doesn't hurt the opposition when he goes forward.......don't know if he's just going through the motions after having his head turned or whether he's just not very good.

He’s got distracted. He’s young. Someone needs to advise him that the best way to get a move to Chelsea is to actually prove you’re good enough on the pitch to be AFC Bournemouth’s first choice left back and not flirt with social media accounts on Twitter.

On Saturday, Neto gets the ball, we all know first option is a short ball out to the defence, but Kerkez isn’t even looking to offer an option he’s completely disinterested.

It wasn’t long later that he was subbed off. We then see Kelly busting a gut to run down the flank on the over lap and get an assist with his second touch of the ball…

To be fair, he was doubtful for the game and limping after being fouled at the end of the first half

You don't need to be a good player to sign for Chelsea anymore look at the state of them

Kelly is not good enough to play for england, not good with the ball at his feet
Wouldn't argue that he should be playing for England, but even if he was the lovechild of Ashley Cole and Paolo Mandini , Southgate would ignore him if he was playing for us

I remember Daniels playing for Orient before we signed him and thought he was a great player back then.

Yep. He was regareded as one of the best lb's outside of top 2 tiers when we signed him. Surprised he lasted so long at Orient tbh... as they're a club with few redeeming features/unfashionable for any half decent players, apart from being based in the city.

Was very happy when we signed him. Proper sign of our intent back then, how we attracted him.

Our thing used to be having decent left backs for decades in lower leagues, relative to quality throughout team in other positions. Always seemed to have players I though were capable of playing in Champ. Apart from Christer Warren era, when Machin converted him from a very mediocre striker to a very mediocre LB... assume driven by funds... or lack of. Following sale of the superb Vincent to Huddersfield during Jan window, or was it prior to that rule, and more like March? Either way, killed our promotion hopes that year, as we would have reached playoffs if not for that.

Suprised Cummings didnt get a move, and we held onto him so long. Sadly leg break killed acceleration and meant he was destined to remain in lower leagues.

It shows how important a manager is because under Groves we signed some decent players like Charlie etc and we were heading for relegation until Eddie came back and took us up

Exactly. Used to keep having this debate with @New Old Cherry who used to keep saying its all about players and not managers fault.

Must admit, Howe returning and instant turn around, made me consider importance of having decent/right man in charge.

That squad should have been playoffs under half decent manager. Groves shown himself up to be well out of his depth.

Funny enough my stag do was in Bristol, and we went to the Di Canio?Ritchie demolition at County Ground on way up. Utter shambles that performance.

I was f***ked as had been drinking pints all morning/day, later found out to be spiked with vodka!!

Forced to wear Pompey shirt too ;)

They're a joke, massive club though bigger than Arsenal.

You reckon. Have to disagree on that one mate. Arsenal, then Spurs always been top 2 clubs in London, prior to Roman era.

Chelsea some ways bigger now, but Spurs still 'feel' bigger to me in some ways.

Chelsea around West Ham stature prior, but with shiny exterior and en vogue washed up foreign players, making them more fashionable to the east end 'Ammers.

Followed by Palace/QPR/Fulham, then Charlton and Millwall.

Orient in shadows.

I have to disagree mate, I gave Arsenal benefit of the doubt for many years when Chelsea destoyed them every time with Drogba. End of the day Chelsea have 2 CL titles Arsenal and Spurs have none. Arsenal havent won league for 20 years.

Yeah without doubt now, they're at same table, plus obvious spending power.

But Arsenal seem to be made of richer fabric, and more established/proper club at elite levels.

Chelsea there through money, no doubting recent success though,

Not a million miles away from saying City are bigger than United, as City had more success last decade. United still clearly bigger club, despite that.

Feels like more weight/gravitas behind United and Arsenal, despite the potential usurpers undoubted more recent success and spending power.

A bit like us claiming to be bigger than the tw4ts down the road. Will take a new stadium and a few mnore years or higher level football, before we can get near to claiming bigger than them.

In fairness Chelsea had great players before Roman they beat Liverpool to finish top 4 in 2002 and had multiple domestic cup wins in late 90s. Man City were in league one in 2000 with us and were nowhere near success

If Kelly commits 100% for the rest of the season and hits top form, he could easily be gifted with a place in England's starting 11 for the Euro's. Chillwell and Shaw are both cr@p, next in line is Cresswell and Bertand!
AI is in a tricky position of choosing whether or not to develop Kerkez and give him that left back spot for the rest of the season or play Kelly, who will do a better job (currently) for us there before he F's off in the summer.
I can't agree with Chillwell and Shaw are both carp. I'd be happy if we signed either of them.
