I think this is a key issue. Because he didn't book anyone they were able to persist with this and the game became niggly and scrappy. Fewer bookings will always favour a side defending with a low block.
It's really disappointing to lose the unbeaten record in that way.

Finally taking Mepham off and then going with 3 at the back with our best wing back in that back 3 was even more mysterious tbf.

We were always going to lose at one time and it was always likely to be against a lower team who put a whole team behind the ball and then suckerus on the break. Preston did that twice tonight.
We really did miss Jaiden and Jordan tonight and, probably, Gavin.
A really poor performance but we are still top of the league.
We all, fans, players and manager, have to learn from this and move on.
By the way I predicted this score on the Prediction game (but then again I predict this score for every game)

Kris Temple just said Scott Parker confirmed JZ will miss Saturday's match and is due to see a specialist next week.. Oh no! Funny how at the start of pre season we probably all thought surely JZ won't start many games.. Now he's one of the first names on the tram sheet and one we all look and hope to see! Really missed him tonight!! So let's hope it's not as bad as it could be!

Had a nasty feeling that something might go wrong tonight and that’s what happened.
We just did not really cause Preston any problems in the first half except for a Billing shot off target.
They took their two chances in second half and we suffered from it even though we equalised.
They broke our four game unbeaten run last season and they have broken our much longer run tonight.
We need to put that behind us on Saturday and get back to winning ways.

Off the top of my head, Solanke at the weekend, Anthony's when Rossi headed back across goal. Was Kelly's the other week from a set piece?
Of all the things to complain about this season, set pieces have been pretty good, both defending and attacking this season.

Yes. Really poor decision. We knew that, so he should have. Should have broken up the partnership, shifted Kelly to the left and put maps in the middle. Kelly has lots of experience at left back and Meps would have been fine next to Cahill I think.
Other weird decisions, taking off Meps for Rogers and putting Lerma in defence. Taking Christie off for Marcondes but leaving on Lowe who did nothing all game but miss a sitter...
And don't get me started on the referee and linesman...

I moan in matches that they are often wasteful or unspectacular. Against Reading was great but otherwise, I think it's something we could really work on.
