AFCB - Pic of the day

Something for us oldies. The Southern Junior Floodlit Cup.
Some long forgotten names who never made it in our line up.

Bob Iles, Harry Folconer, Brian Lawrence, Bob Cadwallader, Ian Cunningham, Jamie Tombs, Jimmy Scotland, Howard Goddard, Martin Bridge, Mark Nightingale, Bbby Billen, Glen Stride.

Iles, Cunningham, Goddard & Nightingale made it.
Stride was Bashley manager I think.
What about the rest?

Referee - David Letts. I played many a game with him officiating. Probably the very best local ref of his time. Very strict, but with humour.

Just out of interest, I looked up Harry Falconer.

Right back from Newcastle, released as a youth from Burnley in 1972, played 7 times for us and 14 for Wimbledon......and that was it. A 21-game professional career.

Subtle for a Friday. Is it time to bring back collars on shirts?

Head for the top!
2-0 v Swansea. Gabriel & Aimson.

Something seems a little strange.
Did we become AFCB for the 1972/3 season.
I was sure it was 70/71, but programme covers say otherwise.
