He was still being selected for Aussie age groups so it's not as if he's terrible, just we have two younger better keepers. Should we offer him a contract in the hope we can get a fee for him? That only exposes us to spending on wages for another few years. Better to let him forge a new career at another level

I read that Holmes turned down a new contract as he wanted to leave to get more first team football.

I think so. Not sure how his loan went in Scotland - he didn’t play any first team games at st mirren so time he gets some first team action as he is 22 now
