Brighton v AFC Bournemouth

5 against Brighton and Dunk didn't score one of them, must be a first for them : )
So nice to be able to come on here on the way home from an away match and not be full of dread. Looked like a team today : )

Don’t worry, give it half an hour & someone will be along to put a negative spin on this afternoon’s result no doubt.

Absolutely disgusting! A tinpot little club pretending to be a Premier League outfit, with no infrastructure, go to Brighton and not only does their geriatric keeper keep a clean sheet but their bunch of misfits manage to score five goals. To cap it all their player commits a blatant dive to get that gentle Mr Knockaert sent off. Criminal!

Great performance from us.Set up perfectly.Cookie gives us solidity at the back.Eddie has got to play that team against saints. He dropped Clyde and Begovic who have been poor.Well done Eddie and the team.

It’s a funny old game. For the first 30 minutes there was a definite nervousness and we still looked sluggish. But wow; what a last hour.

Yes the knockaert red card was a killer blow both going down to 10 men but also he was looking their most dangerous player. But it was great to see some of quick counter attack and short passing we became accustomed too earlier on in the season.

The Brighton fans were shell shocked on the train home.

Did anyone spot dunk (or maybe Duffy) punching the ground after we scored our second? They really are a bunch of knuckle draggers those two centre backs.

Thought the first 30 was like the first half against Chelsea, i.e. let them have possession but win it back in final third and try and hit them on the break. We seem to be better when building patiently like that compared to going all out from kickoff.

It did seem to me that our opponents in recent losses played very cynical, negative football and upset our flow completely. Brighton didn't do that (well, not a lot) and we punished them. It shows how dangerous we are when we can play in open spaces.

Their fans talking about Hughton should go. Think that is a bit harsh to be honest.

He thought we were dynamic today, also no argument re red card.

If you have not seen them both interviews with the managers on link below.

Hughton is a top bloke, very much in the Eddie mould. That interview showed great dignity and honesty. How many other PL managers would be that fair after such a defeat ? Barely a handful, I’d wager. Brighton deserve someone a lot worse if they can’t appreciate all he has done for them.
