Championship predictions

Brentford had several first choice players missing including Raya and Benrahma. More sales ahead?

Could well turn into a transitional season for Brentford.

Re the other results, shows how wonderfully unpredictable the championship can be. All relegated teams got 3 points, could be a sign of things to come hopefully!

Just an update on this:
The statistical website mentioned further up this thread
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/championship/
Is dynamically updated after every game - basically, looking at whether the teams performed better, or worse, than the model expected, and the odds are then re-weighted.
The long and the short is that after matchday 1, we're favourites to win the league!

Even though we have just come down one division, I still feel strange on hearing the words "we're favourites to win the league!"

I’ve saved it as a bookmark to refer back to - looks very interestingly done, thanks for sharing

Actually was Kirskikka who originally posted it. Definitely fascinating though. Their statistical analysis looks better than most of the stuff you see (e.g., their version of "xG" seems much more nuanced, complex, and better than plain old xG).

I use that site for US elections, didn’t realise it forecasts football results! Thanks for the link. Their stats is very smart (successfully predicted spot on the 2008 and 2012 election results)
