FA Cup replays scrapped

The big clubs have long wanted this to happen “to protect our players” but they will also be the clubs who play exhibition matches, and other big money making games during the year.

Meanwhile, many smaller clubs survive on their cup runs and, over the years, some replays have produced fantastic footballing moments.

This is pure greed by the big boys.

DISGRACEFUL!!

Proud to be still Tinpot!

:utc:Always!

Saw a tweet this morning from a journalist that Spurs and Newcastle playing a friendly in Melbourne three days after season finishes. Not sure how true that is but we all know of so many of these style of games. It’s never been about player welfare or supporters.

I just don’t understand how a few clubs get to decide this. The governing bodies always run scared of them. Ultimately they should be 1 voice in 92. As us, Luton and Bradford have proved you are never sure what division you will be in and when.

I mean when the PL punish Man City for their financial misdemeanours they may well be back in league 1 praying for the money from a replay… *cough *cough never going to happen
They are .

Presume it’s going to be a youth team game?

Afterall the European players will need to be rested for that little tournament in the summer!

The Athletic are reporting that the FA agreed to this for the exclusive 'weekends' they would get, the EPL like it for less games.
Allegedly £33 million for grassroots football.
Any Football League team that has ever put out a weakened team does lose some of their argument that the competition is important.
