Luton's New Stand

How's that new ground mentioned ten years ago, and approved four years coming along?

Amazing what £100m+ can do, when you have no choice.

I don't remember AFCB missing their first game when also upgrading to PL requirements back in 2015.

In fairness Luton expect to have new ground by 2026. I would hope we would be no more than a year behind that?

Agree with this post, but it didn't come cheap. £10M allegedly. I'm hoping we have grander and more permanent plans in the offing. I do wonder if fans will get a say in what comes next at DC.

Completed in just 3 months. That's impressive!

Instead of messing around with these ridiculous rip-off "hospitality" marquees, why didn't Foley order an upgrade to the Ted Mac instead?

PS And fill in the corners while he's at it.
Because it wouldn't pay for itself by the time we're planning to rebuild the stadium. See previous interviews etc.

He seems a very astute businessman. Given his investment to date I'm not sure why fans don't give him more benefit.

£110M on players (as the other set of moaners keep mentioning when they want to put the club down for overspending), training ground actually being built to enable stadium expansion, investment in stadium facilities.

But yes you're right on the last part.
Which is fine if you want growth for growths sake.

Maybe the business logic would suggest that DC would be most profitable as a gigantic matchday catering and hospitality operation. Cheapest ticket £139 a pop, but obviously there are gold and platinum packages available.

Happy with that ?

Gee ....Why not build the bloody Stadium on that poxy Training Ground site too...there's plenty of space...oh no that's too simple ..unless it's me that's simple....
...oh I don't know though...here's another idea....fields full of cows and sheep for the use of cow pies and legs of lamb in ' Hospitality Tents' spread across Canford....and there's room for our own abbattoir!

Y'all come back now !

No, it's not a question of whether I can personally afford to build a new stadium. And if I can't, that disqualifies me from commenting on the matter.

I am questioning whether this insane rush towards over-commercialising everything about this club is in any way in the interests of genuine long-term supporters.

The honeymoon ended with the season ticket shenanigans, since then we’ve had match day ticket price hike, Junior cherries membership price doubled, training kit now costing the same as a kit used to, a first team shirt at £60 for adults, full kit for kids costing £120, then comes the tickets, high points holders ditched unless you’re in the very top tier bracket to get their elbows out in the bun fight for tickets with 1+ pointers who went to a friendly. Maximum points holders know they need to also buy tickets for friendlies, women games and development squad games just to sustain their place in the pecking order for fear of being chucked down into the bun fight themselves…

The ticket availability lowered for more hospitality in block 1 and the loss of a fans bar, then promised replacement becomes another hospitality hub and even more ticket availability handed over to even more hospitality…

Meanwhile the accessible travel for supporters to get to away games is still in limbo.

It’s almost like some are more interested in how they get to see their football club, not a rich man’s balance sheet.

So you don't want them to make more money whilst they are spending millions on the new training facilities that they say will enable them to build a new stadium, and you don't want to pay more for your season ticket to watch the hundreds of millions of pounds worth of new players they've signed?

Anything else?

The hospitality that is pissing so many people off will generate a drop in the ocean compared to the millions and hundreds of millions you quote above.

I haven't mentioned season tickets or training grounds.
However I think it's colosally naive to assume that Bill Foley's business objectives align with those of genuine long-term supporters.

Can we discuss that ?

I get that. Some of that is the nature of the PL. Other stuff they will probably be looking at fan feedback. They are the most communicative owners I've known in the club's history so that's a positive sign they will listen.

Ultimately as everyone knows, we need the new stadium built to keep most fans happy. These are the guys to deliver it, let them cook.

For me a lot of the stuff on this forum is just old people moaning about change. We have people complaining we're spending too much on one hand while other people complaining it's not enough. Then people moaning about the owners adding additional revenue streams. I've been through the dark times, I know what I prefer.

You are not allowed to discuss anything David. We are window cleaners and road sweepers and Bill is a very rich American businessman. He has all that money for a reason and we have very little for the opposite reason. Therefore everything he does is right and our thoughts on it are laughable. If it all ends in tears it will all have been worth it.

Just saving you the time of writing any more ;)
