Man City away

Ye

Yes I have. There is a fine line between support and travelling to a game knowing that defeat is the only outcome.
I am going to Man City to support my team. I am looking forward to it with the day out not just about 90 minutes. Do you go to many games?

I am expecting a defeat but then most top 6 games in prem are likely to end in defeat - but, out of the blue, sometimes you get a 4-3 win over liverpool or 3-2 win at Tottenham to lift the soul.

Posting so negatively all the time is boring, what is the point? You hardly appear as a footballing guru in predicting defeat at Man City. Instead, you come across as a miserable individual who doesn’t seem to support afcb

I knew there was a reason for football violence!

I am not a miserable individual. I am somewhat of a realist of whom sees things as they are and in the cold light of day. You are confusing negativity with realism.

Do you have some inside information that the match will be abandoned after 45 minutes? Will the match be replayed? If so, when?
I was referring that the game will be over by half time i.e. we will be 3-0 down by half time and the game will be beyond retrieval especially now that we cannot hit an Elephants backside with a tennis racket in the goal scoring front.

You still don’t get it do you ?
your posts get criticised more than any other and you still think your’e right.
You’ve been to one game in the last ten years.
You make up stories that you were a football scout up north.
Where in fact you spend your time walking around Swindon in your old Mothercare security guard uniform.

I grant that people are going to Man City to support the team. However, undertaking a 500 mile round trip to watch a nailed down defeat is somewhat baffling. So, I salute you all for your resolve.

It’s what fans do. We are relatively lucky but on a weekend there’s hardy fans travelling miles and miles without ever much cheer. Football has been and I hope will always be more than 22 players kicking a ball up and down the pitch.

But even in defeat now we are in the prem, it’s amazing to see players like de Bruyne, Haaland, son etc up and close and seeing their movement and skill levels in a way that you don’t always appreciate on tv.

The reality is there is always a chance in a game of football despite the odds - sometimes a win but even a late goal to snatch a draw such as that 3-3 draw at Maine road or 2-2 at anfield or battling display like the draw at old Trafford that really is to savour and give pleasure decades after the event.

Its been said before, but some of us find pleasure in catching up with friends, having a sing and generally enjoying the day.
I very much doubt he gets any kind of solace from the three things you mention;
Meeting friends - nah
Singing - nah
Enjoying the experience -weĺl given his general demeanor that would have to be a big fat NO.

Going to games when there is little to no hope is almost better than when you go expecting to win.

Watch us get beat 4-0 at Man City? Doesn’t really matter too much.
Come away having failed to win against Luton? Catastrophic.
Somehow sneak a point against Man City? Going to be one of the most memorable games you’ll go to for some time.
Win against Luton? Well it was expected, you’ll have forgotten about it in 2 weeks time.

Had a really good experience last year at Man City. Had torn my medial ligament a few days before. Had seat mid way.

Walked/ hobbled into ground on crutches and steward escorted me into Disabled seats. Did say had ticket further down but would not let me sit with other half. Steward kept asking was I OK and directed me to disabled loos. Didn't take him up on the offer.

Could not complain but did hope I was not taking someone else's seat

The mysterious source of funding behind the Riverside Rockets has been revealed, the BBC reports:

Is really must be a party on there!

11kg, that's not to be sniffed at : )

Ps it's why we always stop at Cherwell, even if we're going to London, the Riverside Rocket is usually about 30kgs lighter when we leave Cherwell : )

Reminds me of coming back from Barcelona. My powered chair set off the swab thing. Not sure if they thought it was drugs or something more serious, but it was quite scary.
