Non: ChatGPT

Sam Altman has been ousted as the head of artificial intelligence firm OpenAI by the company's board, which said it had lost confidence in his ability to lead the company.

The board said Mr Altman had not been "consistently candid with his communications", hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities.

The 38-year-old helped launch OpenAI, which is behind the ChatGPT bot.

Sounds like a lot of senior developers have quit or plan to quit to follow Altman wherever he ends up - Microsoft.

Odd situation for MS having billions invested in OpenAI's models, then taking on a lot of the senior brains behind those models to work directly for them, presumably to work on their own in-house competitor models.

Can imagine it wouldn't be easy to move from running / working in a fast paced start-up you all joined early, to slotting into the Microsoft corporate behemoth.

I've seen it all described as a soap opera for nerds :D but I find it interesting at least. Potentially important for the world depending on how far these things end up going.

The world's first known combat between a human pilot and a fighter jet controlled by AI has been carried out in California, the US military has said.

In a drill over Edwards Air Force Base, the pair of F-16 fighter jets flew at speeds of up to 1,200mph and got as close as 600 metres during aerial combat, also known as dogfighting.

One was manned, while the other jet was a modified version of the F-16, called the X-62A, or VISTA (variable in-flight simulator test aircraft).
