They’ll be here any day now. Saw a hobby yesterday and there were plenty of sand martins for him to chase down.I must be a hundred miles up country from you? They were headed ENE to be exact, they must’ve bypassed the fens

Normally see about a dozen through the seasonOoh I've only seen one hummingbird moth in England. At worth matravers.
As the weather warms a bit and the dragonflies start coming out, I’m hoping for Hobbies over local ponds. As per my last post- been recommended to look out for them over the pond on Morden Bog- apparently a favourite feeding spot. They’ll be here any day now. Right weird bunch
Had the misfortune to holiday with some
Some of the most obsessed self absorbed people I have ever met
Tick it off in the book and then on to the next
Morden Bog this morning- saw my first Cuckoo. Loads of other great stuff too including three Crossbill, a Peregrine Falcon and this lovely Woodlark singing like a yodler in the woods. Super place.View attachment 14081
Our first Swallows, just outside Doncaster, were last Saturday.I must be a hundred miles up country from you? They were headed ENE to be exact, they must’ve bypassed the fens
Sorry KBG- I missed this earlier and only just seen it. I use a Canon EOS R7 with a 100-500 zoom. The photo was taken on 500 (couldn’t get too close or the Woodlark would’ve flown) and then cropped a bit. Great camera though.Nice picture, what kit were you using?
I think the photo is missing Bitzer?Had these 2 fighting over black grapes at the weekend. There was only going to be 1 winner hence Mr. Jay looking a bit hacked off.
Sharp eyes

It is indeed a four-spotted chaser.Really a question for @stanthevan or @Ken Baileys Ghost, but this little beauty kept me company while trudging through bog yesterday on an unsuccessful attempt to photograph a very noisy cuckoo - my pull-out guide tells me it might be a Four Spotted Chaser?
