Promotion potential...

We don't win ugly, agreed, but it would also help if we did the simple things correctly like passing to each other and being available for a pass.

Some of the players give off the impression that they think they are too good. Collectively I think the team goes onto the pitch expecting the result to take care of itself. That will be our biggest problem.

We got promoted last time by playing excellent football with less talented players, where all players would run through brick walls for each other. This time it's obviously a more talented squad but with a lot of egos.

That last paragraph is exactly what Brentford look like,a lot of players who haven't made it at bigger clubs but have a point to prove.

A top team losing 2-1 away to another top team is quite a 'run of the mill' thing.
That's just 3 defeats now...likely there will be about 7 all season ..ish.
Likely we can probably beat Brentford 2 -1 at home.
As some posters have pointed out ..its the draws home and away against the lower table sides that drag you back. The two teams that avoid that pitfall are the two that will go up automatically..
The two shots early on today..that were cleared off the line might have seen us 3-0 at half- time....so be prepared for plenty more fateful twists and turns in the 2nd half of the season.
