RIP - Peter Wicks

What sad news.
Shared many a pint and many an appalling Bournemouth away performance with him.
A true gentleman. Will genuinely be missed.

“Remember him from the 60s and 70s, a genuine nice bloke. If I remember correctly he lived in Barrack Road at that time.”

My best mates lived in Barrack Road (one is called Peter) or just off it back in the 1960’s, early1970’s.

I met up with them back in the 1960’s as that was when I started going to away matches with them. We travelled mainly by train, only remember one outing by coach to Eastville Stadium to watch us play Rovers.

When I saw the name thought it rang a bell, but not certain.

RIP Big Man.

Long time since I last saw him, but remember sharing more than a few of those “very select” away experiences with him back in the Eighties and Nineties.

I’ll raise a glass of something to him tonight but it’ll be cider rather than the real ale he relished so much.

Really saddened to learn yesterday of the passing of Pete Wicks. I had the privilege to get to know him during my stint as a member of the Exiles. He really was a lovely guy.
