Richard Hughes

Getting back up when you shouldnt have been relegated wasn't a want it was a need.

To get us back up we signed:

Cahill
Moore
Rothwell
Dembele
Lowe
Marcondes
Hill
Phillips
Nyland
Cantwell
Laird
Brady

We lost:

Danjuma
Rico
Cook
Begovic
Wilshire
MORGAN ROGERS
Leif Davis

More recently we lost:

Lerma
Pearson
Zemura
Stacey
Brooks
Rothwell
Anthony
Moore

That's a whole pile of players who have come and gone in the space of a couple of years, surplus to requirements, but with agents fees and wages not considered.

How many of the above players have been sold for a profit?

1 or 2 at a push.

If we look back over the last couple of years we have:

Smith
Travers
Solanke
Cook
Christie
Kelly
Tavernier
Billing

Have been with us for years, Eddie signings.

Hughes had a big cheque book and has signed some good players.

Kerkez
Kluivert
Zabarnyi
Senesi
Semenyo

Some questionable signings:

Trarore
Faivre
Scott
Outtara
Fredericks
Adams
Unal

Wanted to sign Castravilli, didn't sign Jackson.

Given the evidence, he's spent more than he's brought in, and missed out on signings that would have improved us.

It's not an exact science, but he won't be allowed such nonchalance with Liverpools cheque book, as he has been here.
leif Davis and Morgan rogers were loans we didn't let them go they returned to parent club.

tavs and Christie were not eddie signings

Half of this is wrong.

I doubt it’s possible to compare but I’d be interested to pitch our signings, successes and failures against other clubs.

Going to Liverpool is a big risk, but fair play to him for taking it. He could have stayed as one of Eddies old chums.
Notice Eddies never taken him.

Not sure which of the above three posts to reply to......so will encompass them all at once if that's OK?

Leif Davis and Morgan Roger's were loans.

Yes they were, but they are both better players now.

We haven't lost Brooks ,Rothwell or Moore.

No, but I doubt Andoni would have let any of them go if he wanted to keep them.

(There be the clue)

Still on the books, on massive wages, yet surplus to requirements.

Half of this is wrong (SDD)

That must mean that half of it is right.?

He's just looking for an argument, but had to start it with the ... 'half of this is wrong' pitch.

SDD which half is wrong, and which half is right?

Excellent post. Never taken time to do this but good to see it laid out. How many players have left for a profit? Out of the huge amount we have signed since Eddie left.

I don’t think there have been any?

Our agents fees paid was in the top ten in Europe.

Even if we got 50m for Zab it will get wiped out by the loss on Traore. 40m on Kerkez will get wiped out on the fact Hughes is the only top level TD to think Dango was worth 20m.

Like others have said, I wish the guy well at Anfield but glad we have moved on. I’d have liked a bolder choice from Spain as TD but also have a lot of time for Franno.

Watched a bit of LiVARpool on tv under the stand at half time Wednesday.

They seem to like spunking 10s of millions on players that can't seem to score when given fairly simple chances. Imagine how much sh7te they'd be getting on here if they played for us having cost that much.

10's of millions players who are shyte or who don't play.

Gets missed at Liverpool I guess?

But 80 million this season of non effective signings for AFCB?

Faivre
Outtara
Adams
Scott

Will they come right?

Possibly.

But for 80 million quid on transfer fees, those 4 have had a net gain of zero this season.

But apparently Outtaras goal against Tottenham was worth 60 million.

Outtaras goal against Tottenham was a thing of beauty, but he's done nothing since.

He always comes on as a substitute as he can't be trusted to start, and he's influenced about zero games since.

Interesting how you see opinions as winning and losing…explains a lot!!

You always said they’d be working together again. Still waiting. I don’t see this as you losing by the way because I’m not a dick.
Personal abuse? Thought you were above that sort of thing.

I said i wasn’t a dick. I didn’t say anyone else was….

You’ve lost. I’ve won..

It’s pure year 7 stuff that….. surely the same thought crossed your mind Rob.
Playing Devils advocate here Rob.

There was no personal abuse was there?

Can you point it out so we can all see it.
I'll just Go and look up the definition of the word 'implied'.

Anyway, back on topic...

Sorry mate, forgot Matias Vina.
There were other things you were wrong so Del should have plenty of ammo.

You forgot Zaniolo in the list of crap Hughes dad scouted for him in Italy. Oh and Radu.

You also forgot we could have had a better keeper than Neto for his eye watering wages and Darren Randolph. Other teams have a kid that offers third choice back up. We pay PL wages to someone to carry the cones out and then loan someone else in if it ever looks like we might need to put him on the bench.

Good work if you can get it….
