Vitals Champs & Chumps - 2022/23 Season

Monday saw the end of the League Two season with Rochdale and Hartlepool dropping out of the league. At the other end, Northampton clinched the promotion spot they so cruelly lost out on last season to join Orient & Stevenage in League One next season.

Top spot in the prediction standings goes to leekeypants who selected Orient and Hartlepool.

League One concluded at the weekend with Plymouth winning promotion, with a 101 points total, and they are joined by Ipswich whilst Sheffield Wednesday ended in third, and the play offs, despite a points total of 96.

At the other end, a final day victory for Cambridge saw them jump above Franchise and Morecambe to avoid relegation and send those two down instead.

leaprobe tops the standings for this division with predictions of Ipswich & Forest Green.

The Championship finished yesterday with the returns to the Premier League of both Burnley as 101 point Champions along with runners up Sheff Utd.

Sunderland just nicked the final play off spot to give them the chance of back to back promotions if they can beat Luton and then either Middlesbrough or Coventry.

At the other end of the table, Old Colin masterminded an escape for Huddersfield which saw the Biscuits go down with Blackpool & Wigan.

Top spot in the scores this time is shared by Bourne Mouthy and Da Bomb who both selected Sheffield Utd & Rotherham. Their winning scores of 6 points show how hard to predict the Championship was this year.

So another season ended yesterday with Everton managing to shut us out in order survive in the Premier League at the expense of Leicester and Leeds who join Southampton in "going championship".

At the other end the Norwegian goal machine took Man City to yet another title, one of the more predictable outcomes in a season of some unexpected outcomes. There were probably long odds available at the start of the season for Leicester getting relegated (whilst all three promoted teams survived) ,Chelsea and Tottenham both missing out on the top Seven (never mind big six), and Newcastle, Brighton and Villa all qualifying for Europe! This is reflected in the table below by the relatively high scores compared to previous seasons.

afcblady was the only one to correctly predict City and Saints for top and bottom respectively and therefore tops the scores for this league.
