Hi all, with a break in normal games, I am posting the first update of this competition for this season.

Firstly, a few points of “interest” from this seasons entries - should anyone other than me be interested.

There were 39 entrants this season and I have added an extra one made up of the most selected entries for each position from the entries made to see how as a collective we fair. This extra entry is (bracket figure – no of selections out of 39):

“Most Chosen” Entry:
Premier League: Top Man City (29) - Bottom Luton (20)
Championship: Top Leicester (22) - Bottom Rotherham (21)
League One: Top Derby (17) - Bottom Cheltenham (13)
League Two: Top Wrexham (9) ((joint with Stockport) - Bottom Crawley (15)
National: Top Chesterfield (25) - Bottom Oxford City (15)

There were again some widely diverse opinions with the following eight teams being tipped by different entrants to finish both top and bottom of their divisions.

Premier: None
Championship: Sheff Wednesday, Southampton & Plymouth
League One: None
League Two: Swindon, Mansfield & MK Dons
National: Bromley & Southend

I am about to post the first update with "stanthevan" leading the way at this early stage with defending champion “deancourt” only 1 point behind.

In the style of Test Match Special

Aggers " First off, thanks Mrs Trellis of North Wales for a beautiful picture of a marmalade and rhubarb cake, I'm sorry I don't have a clue about the next Mornington Crescent World Cup, maybe that nice Mr Titchtmarsh can help you? Anyway back to the very interesting Champs and Chumps standings, that Table chappie's showing some fine early season form, only 1 boundary away from a century"

Andy Salzmann " Yes indeed Jon, if he does get it, it will be the fastest ton ever in this competition. Although Erik the Viking is also very close, a couple of poor results and he could be the first pre-November centurion" : )

Another update with "stanthevan" still leading the way by one point from defending champion “deancourt” who has been joined in second place by "chriscooke".
