Benik Afobe

why would he want to goto Stoke when he has just signed for Wolves?

He might not want to but maybe wolves do??

Wasn't there some deal involving an Italian club and Real Madrid (maybe) where they had an option to buy a player back at a fixed price. They did it then immediately afterwards flogged him on at a big profit?

By the time the afobe money is all levelled out, taking various unpaid balances and loan fees into account, it might be that wolves are only handing over a few quid. Stoke might then offfer lots of quids and wolves make a tidy profit helping FFP.

But most likely it's just transfer rumour mill bollox.

But, Afobe will cry in his car and refuse to go.

Morata. They ended up keeping him for a season but exercised their buyback clause from Juventus when other clubs started showing interest in him at a higher fee.

I think the way he left, including the loan period, has tainted opinions on him. When he arrived, we were all happy enough and initially, he scored some very important goals for us and looked to be a good deal. For whatever reason, his sharpness waned later on and he looked a different player by the time he went.

I've seen him play 'in the flesh' for Wolves, against Hull and he didn't look to clever. No home fan was upset when he was subbed. He looked a step below their better attackers for sure. In other games though, he did score a handful of goals and a couple of them were great finishes. I saw plenty of comments on Twitter from their fans saying he wasn't all that good, now they all seem to think he's quality. They haven't seen him in the PL across the previous year and I don't think he'll be a first choice player for them but both sides seem happy, so fair enough.

He was one of the reasons we got Jack Wilshere on loan.

It could only happen to us............after all the times we've been mugged in the transfer market.....we sell a player for a fee we all seemed as good business. .....then the buying club sell on for all tidy profit.....you couldn't make it up! :taz:

If there was a release clause there's not much we could do. What difference does it make to us anyway? He's surplus to requirements and we made money on him. Why would you lose any sleep over what happens to him after we've sold him on? Unless you are looking for sticks to beat the club with.

To replace this bloke if rumour is true about Afobe.

Xherdan Shaqiri has confirmed he will leave Stoke City this summer, preferably for another Premier League club.

The winger admitted as much in an interview with Swiss newspaper Aargauer Zeitung, and a relegation clause in his contract means he will be able to move on for no more than £13.5m, a fraction more than Stoke paid to bring him from Inter Milan in the summer of 2013.

Afobe was funny for us; he missed a boatload of chances but he did have an uncanny ability to get into scoring situations that others couldn't. He seemed to always get such a chance within a minute of coming on as a sub, but he would always miss.
Probably because opposition defenders didnt bother to mark him

Let me help everyone here.
We signed Benik for 10M

We lent him back to Wolves for £2M, that was taken out of the original fee we paid for him.
We still owed £5.2M on the original deal, which has been deducted from our original purchase.

We are slightly in profit, but not a lot after wages.

As I always say, there is nobody at AFCB who cuts it with big money, or understands how it works.

Why would you include wages to make out it is a loss? We've lost money on the tea lady if you include wages. He played 60 odd times do you think it was voluntary work?

It just shows how much you know, SDD. The tea lady was told to fucoffee in 2012 following the sensational revelation that she was carrying Lee Bradbury's love child.
