Dominic Solanke

Clyne is the one we need. Solanke we can do without, we've got so much firepower.

Aside from Wilson, King, Mousset, we have Dobre scoring for fun in the u23s. Then we have Fraser, Stanislas, and Brooks all of whom have played up front in the past, if we really needed.

You're not telling me that if we stick Fraser as a striker, he wouldn't cause just as much chaos as he does on the wing, and we know he can finish.

Solanke is a nice to have, potentially. But he did fail a medical at Palace reportedly the other day.

Clyne is wrapped up and hopefully we land Solanke aswell. Would be a great bit of business. All we would need is a central midfielder on loan and I'd be over the moon.

Hmm - and a right CB, surely a priority before another forward.
I'm happy with our CB options - Cook, Ake, Simpson and Mings. Central defenders are hard to acquire, especially in January. Do you loan a young kid? Not ideal in our situation. Do you pay over the odds for an established player? Not ideal in our situation. Do you wait until the summer and make the right choice for the right price? Yeah I'd go with that.

However, if a good opportunity arrives then you should go for it. I'm sure Eddie knows who he wants.

Someone on twitter saying Solanke was seen arc southampton airport earlier, if it was true which it most likely isn’t, still doesn’t rule out Brighton or us. It’s the silly season!

Tried checking the exif data on that Solanke photo, all been wiped so couldn't check date or location. Also was in departures rather than arrivals

I agree with NorthstandMark in that we already have the Liverpool player we really need, so if Solanke is blinded by Brighton's world famous infrastructure ( as opposed to our red and black vinyled portacabins  ) I wouldn't be too upset. If we do sign him it would definitely give us the option of loaning Mousset out somewhere where he could try to make a name for himself and we could see if he can become the player the club believes he can be.

It certainly gives us more options in planning for the future if Solanke comes here. Wilson could be sold ( someday, if the price is right ! ), Mousset could nip off and get a decent loan spell etc. etc.

15 million sounds about right to be fair, in these crazy days. I was expecting worse.
